Absentee manager, no spa, no bar, untrained staff leading to exhausting stay at what should be a holiday in paradise.

    rating08 Aug 2025

Quite honestly an upsetting experience to stay here. The family villa we had booked was unavailable on arrival without any fore-warning and we were ushered into two separate rooms despite requesting a family space. The rooms appeared ready for guests but stained white sheets and a bathroom lacking signs of cleanliness led to us requesting a room change. Demanded to speak to the manager only to find there was no manager on site. Phone brought to us and eventually his number was dialled by site security guard. Conversation ensued. We were moved to a wooden chalet with only a wooden peg and floor bolt to secure the main entrance. We could actually see through the front door so put two suitcases and pillows infront of gap. Substandard bathroom cleanliness again. The kitchen breakfast area wasn't clean so breakfast bought off-site (continuing throughout our stay). Second night, I woke up confused, brushing a small animal, which had walked over my sheets, up my sleeping body onto my hair. Using my pillow to brush this creature off I saw it no more. Next afternoon evidence of mice under son's single bed; droppings and bag damaged by gnawing on shelf opposite his bed. Droppings in upstairs parent bedroom too. Son witnessed mouse run across parent bedroom floor while having phone conversation with friend on last evening. Further complaints led to no change of room but a rather uncomfortable countdown until leaving the next morning. No spa at this resort as advertised, no relaxation as not enough staff to thoroughly clean rooms or seal up obvious gaping holes in doorways. Manager happy to take your booking but I would recommend you book elsewhere if you want a holiday!

    Bedbugs!

    rating19 Jul 2025

Where do I begin?Where do I begin?!?What was once a beautiful resort is now a dilapidated mess. Our airport pickup didn't show up. Instead of an apology, we received a text from Peter, the manager, at 4:00 AM with the Wi-Fi password. Which was handy, thoughmaybe he could have texted that he wasn't at the airport? So, in the middle of the night, we checked into a filthy room with damp, mold, peeling paint, and vermin. Then after 3 days we went to another room, this one infested with mosquitoes. We bought some spray ourselves, and what happened next was unbelievable: from behind the baseboards, a literal invasion of hundreds of flying ants and other vermin came scurrying through the room. Then, just to be sure, we checked the mattress, and unfortunately, it was full of bedbugs! So, the mosquito bites in a row turned out to be caused by bedbugs instead of mosquitoes with an obsessive-compulsive disorder! We checked out immediately, even though of was 11pm.Anything else that's a plus? The infinity pool, provided they'd cut down on the chlorine they'd added to the water. There was no one at the reception desk during our stay. It was handy that the manager texted at 4:00 a.m., otherwise we would still have been looking for someone at the reception desk..Maybe manager Peter just likes to play hide-and-seek?Since Peter refused to refund our money, I have a suggestion: invest it in exterminating the bedbugs and all other pests.Maybe something good will come out of thisAvoid this place!Bedbugs are not the souvenirs you want to take home!

    Great Character

    rating25 Apr 2025

A great little Gem that is a little run down but still has such character. We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay after the hustle & bustle of Legian. The hotel would have been wonderful in her day but now it feels like the jungle is reclaiming her which has a certain charm. The staff were lovely but not many of them. The pools were great and so big but the top one needed a bit of a clean. The Breakfast was very basic so we ended up finding places on the street to eat which there was an array for all meals. The hotel isn't in the heart of Ubud but there is enough around and transport is easy to find. We stayed in the 2 storey family room which was nice especially with the jungle and sounds.
