    Exquisite

    rating17 May 2026

My stay at Jepun was nothing short of tremendous! The service the location and the personnel touch by the owner was world class! The views from the room was not only overlooking the ocean but we were under the clear skies and the stars spoke to us all night. It’s easy access to everything and away from noise. It’s just a 3 minute walk to sunrise or sunset if you feel like getting out of the beautiful hotel. Jepun has touched my heart. Thank me later!

Can I figure out how to come here EVERY year?!

    rating10 May 2026

That question sort of says it all! Bali is a long, LONG way from North Carolina, and there’s no question that the distance makes it a really hard place to visit. That said, this may have been my favorite destination in the whole world! My husband still loves Barcelona (and I do too), but our visit to Jepun Villas in Amed was just incredible. It’s hard to explain, but I’ll try. Accommodations matter. Service matters. Communication matters. Food matters. Amenities matter. The opportunity to experience local culture matters. Safety matters. Location matters. At Jepun Villas, they think so too! That’s why Scott and his team do such an incredible job making sure to cover all those absolutes. But it is the synergy of all those things working together that leads to such a phenomenal experience for the guests who stay here. It is hard to say which was more stellar…the service or the accommodations. But frankly, without the incredible care of Suni, Yuni, Muthi, and Made (guessing on the spelling here, y’all), the experience would not have been the same. They took incredible care of us, fed us SO well, and created an experience like none I have ever had. They have clearly tended to the needs of a lot of Americans, which made some things easier. The menu included a Western Breakfast as well as a burger and some other familiar dishes. The Balinese currency system is wacky, but they routinely gave us details about costs of things in US dollars. They spoke English well with only the occasional need for pronunciation help, and catered to our every need. We loved that they set up American style coffee makers before they left each night so that early risers could start the coffee each morning for the rest of us until it was time for breakfast. Made arranged for dive trips, shopping excursions, cultural tours, and answered all our questions about Amed. I am confident that he could have arranged for any excursion on Bali, but he also did a good job encouraging us to support the Amed economy. They arrange for a roasted pig and traditional Balinese dancers to share their culture with us on our final night there, which was a wonderful way to wrap up our time there. Other reviews clarify that there are only 4 villas, all of which have similar accommodations. I think all have a view of the Bali Sea out their front window (even though it is not a sea-front resort). Each villa has a daybed on a veranda that is great for lounging at all times of day or night. Inside there’s a luxurious king bed with great linens and lots of comfy pillows. There’s both an indoor and outdoor shower, although I have no idea how well the indoor shower works because the outdoor one was just magnificent every single day! I loved it! The mini fridge was well-stocked in each villa, and it was easy to control the temperature in the villa. For those who love wine, there was a nice selection for purchase in the central villa where Suni and the ladies cooked all the meals. In that central villa, they also had a washer & dryer where the ladies could easily provide laundry services, which was a wonderful addition. The pool is small but magnificent, and I think I could hang on that wall, staring out at the Bali Sea all day long! Did I mention massages? OMG! Local masseuses come daily to give 60-minute massages for $15USD! The massages are a little different than what most Americans are used to, but they were completely professional. Those who are modest might hold off and get a “play by play” from a fellow guest to just have a better idea of what to expect. The ladies are eager to create a safe, relaxing experience, and I loved getting a massage almost every day we were there. One of the things that originally attracted my husband to bid on the week at the Free Clinic auction was the opportunity to scuba dive in Bali. Made contacted the local dive master, Sam, who took us on two 2-tank dives while we were there. He too took great care of us and helped us see our first Pacific octopus, explore the Liberty wreck, and delight in all the magnificent coral and fish of Bali. He took us to his warung (family restaurant) for lunch after our second day of diving which was a great value and great food. Breakfast for two each morning, airport transfers, 2 dive experiences, and 2 massages were included in our package. While we are scuba divers, others staying at the villas were not. They were disappointed to learn that they could not trade out the 2 scuba diving outings for 2 snorkeling outings. My husband doesn’t like massages, but his massage was transferable to me. There is one bad review that references the steps. It is absolutely true that this location is not a good one for someone with mobility issues. The property is not very big, but navigating steps and uneven walkways is unavoidable. For the average adult (we are in our 60s and relatively healthy), it is absolutely fine. Perhaps the biggest challenge would be for those who want to venture out on foot because the driveway from the Amed Road up to the villas is very steep, and the walkway up to the temple we visited was just as steep but much longer. Both are “worth it,” but the walkways are definitely steep. Typically, I offer a “great, good, bad, and ugly” overview when I write reviews. I can give no such distinction here though. Everything is great. Everything is exactly the way it is pictured. There are no surprises. Yes, Bali water out of the tap isn’t safe. Yes, the streets are littered, and no, the beaches aren’t like those in Florida or the Carolinas. Yes, it takes a long time to get to Bali, and just when you think you’ve arrived, you realize that you have several more hours to get to Amed. But make not mistake. This place is truly paradise. If you can come here, make it happen! I know you’ll love it as much as we did!

What a great and memorable experience!

    rating22 Apr 2026

What a fantastic experience we had staying at Jepun Villas. The rooms are large and very clean. At first arrival we were skeptical about the location, being it was a 3.5 hour drive from the Airport (due to traffic) and somewhat away from tourist location. There are several steps to up and down to the villas and pool but great daily exercise after each fantastic meals. After the first day our skepticism was put to rest. The two head staff, Made' and Sunnie basically made our stay the most enjoyable of our S. Asia trip. They gave us 7 star service with exceptional food Sunnie prepared. Made' was our private tour guide. Set up and drove us to all the sites and recommended several others of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The Villas and location are wonderful for a peaceful place to relax after enjoying great site seeing, some of the best snorkeling we done. The people of Bali are very gracious and hospitable. The only thing that gave us anxiety is the traffic. But you soon get used to this daily frustration as part of the Bali life. We would highly recommend Jepun Villas and look forward to our return.

    Perfect Vacation

    rating15 Apr 2026

This was our first trip to Bali and the experience was exceptional mostly due to our stay at the Villas. The location and facilities were amazing. The staff provided the very best service imaginable. Every meal was excellent. The suggestions on things to do and places to visit where spot on. This was a dream vacation for my wife and I do not believe the experience would have been as good if we stayed anywhere else. We are already planning our next visit.

    Relaxation & Restoration

    rating15 Mar 2026

I want to thank Scott and crew for an amazing relaxation and restoration trip to Ahmed, Bali. This trip also was special as my wife and I celebrated her milestone 50th birthday. Imagine waking up to ocean views from your bed, made to order breakfast, delicious and refreshing drinks in 75-to-80-degree weather. Jepun Bali Villas provides all of this and more. Nestled in the forest village of Ahmed Bali, this location is perfect to conduct daily exploration activities, exercise (private gym facility on property) or simply relax dip in the pool and have a massage. The villa comes with three butlers, ground keepers, and a driver!! During out stay we partied in a night club, explored the rice fields and iconic Bali Swing, feed some coy fish, and ate exquisite and delicious Balinese food. Since we live in the US, my wife was able to celebrate her birthday twice!! My wife had a vision for her birthday and the staff made it come to live!! Some of birthday list included: 1. On campus photo shoot2. A pool with flowers that read Happy 50th birthday Stephanie3. Balinese dancers4. Balinese dinner5. Adored in Balinese clothingHer birthday was the highlight of the trip!! I highly recommend this location when you travel to Bali. We will be back!!!
