We stayed hotel Alila Ubud , a picturesque property, located in the dense forest. The hotel staff extremely cooperative. We being vegetarian, the chefs & the related staff put in their best efforts to look after our food requirements. Hat off to the entire team !!

You get all this for how much???

Seriously, this place was just too good to be true! The boys I was travelling with had been to Patong a few times, and this is now their go-to hotel, and I can certainly see why.We paid between $20-$25 Aussie dollars per night depending on the room. Mine was the worst of them, being just a bedroom with Queen size bed as well as a perfectly adequate bathroom. All clean and well maintained. The other boys however, had the suites with a seperate bedroom with King sized Bed, massive bathroom with seperate toilet and shower, as well as a lounge room (and depending which side of the building you are on, either a balcony or bar area. We decided to set up the one with the balcony as our party starter location, so dragged the couch from one of the other rooms into this one so we all got to kick back and chill in comfort - if the staff cared, they didn't say anything, and certainly didn't try to re-organise our interior decoration skills. This hotel is run by another hotel, so there is no reception in the lobby as such. Some may view this as a negative, but for those wanting to enjoy some of Thailands less reputable tourist attractions, no reception = no needing to show ID cards for any friends that come back to the hotel to party with you ;) Other benefits of the "other" hotel which is literally just across the road is that you are allowed to use any of their services, so you have full access to their rooftop pool, gymnasium, and even their restaurant if that's your thing.Speaking of restaurants, across the road in the other direction is a street food seafood restaurant which was not only excellent, but also great value. In the side alley near the hotel is a soup noodle joint that is favoured by locals, which was so good and soooo cheap, and if you find yourself staggering home at 6am, there is also a late night burger joint that seems to only exist in the wee early hours of the morning.Oh yeah, wee early hours of the morning... Did I mention that this place is literally a 5 minute stumble from Banglar road? If you are after somewhere slightly more respectable to go, if you head south instead of west towards Banglar, you end up at a massive shopping complex (not really my thing, but it's there if that blows your hair back), or alternatively, head east and find yourself at one of the best street food markets I've been to.Overall, for the quality of the rooms, the location, and of course the price, I can see why the boys have this one on the top of their list of places to stay. Reading some of the other reviews on here saying that it's overpriced and uncomfortable - I can only assume they are reviewing the wrong place!Guarantee if I find myself back in Phuket, I know where I'm staying!

    Great location

Ok my thoughts are going for both ways on this one. The rooms are comftable, staff is great. Price by walk in was so much higher than the booking apps (suck as trip adviser etc) which was really weird. Pool, gym and sauna are at a near by hotel (water at the pool wasnt so clean back then at May 2016)
