    Recently attended a scrapbook crop with friends abd noticed a few things that bothered me and the attendees-parking they establishment did not have the semis park in lot away from building (2 of my friends did not get a spot until after 2am in the morning). The hotels luggage racks are broke-the wheels are defective!!! The door to patio does not lock--as scrapbookers we have expensive machines that if the door is not locking could be stolen and last but least-there with issues with the plumbing in the building was a problem-the public bathroom was out one afternoon 3 different people had issues with their toilets in their room-one was an all day night issue. I do have to say the staff was helpful, friendly and accommendating. The room we were in was clean as well as sleeping room was clean.     I was on the party floor…

    This hotel is on the east side of the interstate, across from a large Meijer grocery…and nothing else. No restaurants nearby (there are some chains on the other side of the interstate, but not walkable…but I guess no one without a car would stay here.Pleasant young man at check-in. Elevator area a little grubby, with peeling wallpaper. Room was clean enough, had refrigerator and microwave. Towels and bathroom amenities sufficient. Coffee pods were decaf…I hate this, but it’s minor in the grand scheme, I guess.Light filtering blind on the window.My biggest issue was when I went to dinner. At the elevator on my floor (top floor), the door opened and 6 or 7 young men came out carrying cases of beer and bottles of liquor. As I passed through the lobby, another young man was coming in and asking what room the party was in.By the time I returned from dinner, around 8pm, there was not yet any noise…but an hour or so later, the doors started banging and “visiting” back and forth was going on. I actually opened my door and asked if they could quiet it down, but I was ignored. So, I called the front desk and was told that this group was told they had to be quiet by 10. I said that’s fine, I assume that means quiet in their own rooms. But if they were going to continue roaming the halls and being load, I would be asking for a room on a different floor.They did quiet down and that was the end of the disturbance, thankfully.I stay in a hotel to sleep and I am paying for a full night’s sleep.     The free breakfast was free of cinnamon buns, pancakes and juiceDuct tape on the lobby furniture?The halls smelled of a heavily perfumed cleaner? The room also, so much so that my allergies were bothered. The heater was set at 67 but felt more like 167.     The leadership needs to be hospitable

    The location is great and the hotel is recently renovated. From the hotel it is an easy walk to the football stadium, Stroh arena, and the majority of campus.The cost is also usually very reasonable for a college town.The local leadership of the hotel is what brings the rating down. They are unfriendly and blatantly unaccommodating.On several occasions the GM has been outright rude including when they lost my reservation or when as a diamond elite member, I ask for a 2:00 checkout.This is the hospitality business and it would be nice if the leadership was just hospitable.There are plenty of newer nearby hotels just down the street IHG Service, Owner at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bowling Green By IHG, responded to this review Hello, pbahnerThank you for your comments, which will help us improve our service in the future.     The staff is unaccommodating

    The location and the hotel is perfect. From the hotel you can easily walk to the Football field, Stroh arena, and most of campus. The hotel is very clean and recently renovated.The issue is the unfriendliness of the staff. If this was just a one off, I wouldn’t take the time to write a negative review. I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last 18 months and the unfriendly leadership of the hotel has been the one constant.Yes, they’ve lost a reservation in the past and the response was basically, too bad, you will need to pay more.Today, as a Diamond elite member, I asked for a 2:00 checkout and they seemed very put out.
