    It’s Bali on a budget

    The staff and service was excellent. They were very accommodating and helpful in every way they possibly could. Kind people and faces were just a call away, with staff looking to do their part to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We felt incredibly safe on the property and in the surrounding area, both my husband and I went for walks to the nearby beach which was gorgeous, The location was peaceful, quiet, and remote (roughly 3 hours from the city), with other resorts nearby (Puri Dajuma) that we visited for New Years Eve and dinner. The pool was beautiful and relaxing and to be even more accommodating, will take orders bring food to you poolside. With that in mind, this is not a place we plan to stay again. They were out of stock of many fruit, food, and drink options from their menu the entire week we stayed. The bathrooms were humid and not well ventilated which caused odors to linger, and I found many bugs in our bed and occasionally in food as it was served. The room and property looked “unfinished” as there were many half built structures on the property that were not being worked on and our room had a similar feel with many cracked or chipped surfaces. The “room cleaning” was made up of making the bed and new towels and dishes—dirty dishes from the night before we often left behind. We felt the need most times to wipe my dishes or cutlery before using them after seeing hair or food and drink stains on them. I write this more as a reflection of management and the hotel itself NOT THE STAFF. If you are looking to Bali on budget, I’d say DO IT. If feeling clean and comfortable is a priority for you (like you don’t have to double check your silverware before you eat) then this may not be your spot. My husband and I still had a fantastic trip and were able to have a romantic stay especially thanks to the kindness and friendliness of the staff.

    The cooking class was wonderful. The staff spent several hours teaching us authentic Balinese cooking and gave us a recipe book and certificate. The meal was delicious! The rooms were clean and soaking in the nice pool helped us cool off.

    Nice place but near nothing at all

    We stayed in early October, few other guests. Rare to see another person at breakfast. Limited breakfast menu, just a few set meals. Several juices were listed in the breakfast menu but they actually had only two. Limited choices for dinner menu.The rooms were nice, well equipped, spacious, comfortable, clean. Interesting that white rocks were the shower floor. Two bottles of water were free daily. Extras were outrageously expensive.The swimming pool was very clean and inviting. The spa had only gauze curtains, so people passing by had a free show.The staff was pleasant and tried to please.People would find it a wonderful retreat if a person wants only to remain on the beautiful premises, but anywhere else (stores, restaurants, spas, interesting sites, etc.) is many kilometers away. It sits alone. Yes, there is a beach about ten minutes walk down a poorly paved road, but numerous barking dogs came out to threaten us. Not safe without a car.We liked being there, but next time we'll look for a place nearer civilization.

    Dayu is the best server, she is so cute and friendly She always make my day wonderful when I stay at the medewi bay retreat Hopefully I can come back hereBut it's so far away from city, and hard to find stuff from this hotel,But overall is good to stay here
