    Calm, cozy, beautiful!

    rating10 Jun 2026

We stayed 6 nights in this well looked after, cozy, beautifully located hotel. Rooms are super clean and big, bed and mattress is comfortable, the outdoor bathroom is just marvellous. We had Room 10 with private pool. Cocksand pigs from the neighbouring farmer did not disturb us. Chosing an authentic fishermen village means breathing countryside atmosphere.Hotel staff is super friendly, à la carte breakfast provides all you need, everything is fresh and tasty. Spa treatment (Balinese massage) is just wonderful making you feel like a queen. The intact coral reef just in front of the beach allows great snorkelling experience just a few metres away from your room. The beach itself is reserved for the fishermen’s boats. With sun-beds on your terrace and at the common pool this is no obstacle at all. We’d definitely chose this beautiful hotel again!

Disappointing stay – unfortunately, no peace and quiet and no customer service

    rating21 Sept 2025

Our stay was extremely disappointing. Despite the description of a "quiet hotel," sleep was out of the question – loud barking dogs and crowing roosters could be heard all night long. Rest was therefore out of the question. Cancellation was not possible despite the misleading description. The hotel manager showed no understanding or solution-oriented. Our complaints were ignored. There was no response at all. Nobody needs a manager like that! Overall, this hotel is unfortunately not recommended at all. Anyone expecting peace and quiet and customer service should stay well away!!!

    What an oasis

    rating26 Aug 2025

This hotel is hands down the cleanest we have ever stayed in. We have been coming to Bali for 10+ years & stayed in tons of different hotels, but this is next level. Immaculately clean & well kept. Staff are lovely & the food is also fantastic. The breakfast is massive - choice of 3 items, plus juice, plus tea or coffee - we could have held out for dinner we were that full! The meals we had were excellent - top notch in every way. Attention to detail for the presentation was terrific. We had an ocean view private pool hut which was so nice, but all of the rooms appear to be very similar & the hotel pool is so lovely you don’t really need your own. At around 300 AUD per night, this place is a bargain & if we turn to Amed, we 100% would stay again.Massage & Reiki healing were also excellent. Snorkeling is very good right off the beach at high tide - swim out a little down the little boat channel & there is coral/fish galore - so good.

    Pictures don't do it justice!

    rating21 Jun 2025

What an unbelievable beautiful place. It is literally steps from the pool to the beach. The room was so well decorated and designed; loved the art that was used in the Outdoor bathroom. How decadent! The intimate open air, but covered, restaurant was comfortable with a view of the beautiful pool. The delicious food was served by the attentive staff making sure you had everything you needed. Great care was taken for the cleanliness of the rooms and grounds. I hope I get a chance to go there again!

    A fabulous beachfront hotel

    rating27 Oct 2023

A fabulous beachfront hotel. The rooms are comfortable, and luxuriously furnished, with great attention to detail. All rooms have a terrace or balcony, some are immediately overlooking the beach, and the others only a few steps away. There is a swimming pool adjoining the beach, a bar, and a great restaurant with excellent reasonably priced food for all palates. The hotel grounds are exceptionally kept with beautiful water features, flowering plants and manicured grass. The beach is lined with fishing boats, some of which leave early in the morning. Snorkelling is good at high tide off the beach. As the beach is grainy black sand , with small pieces of coral and stones leading into the water, it is advisable to bring suitable footwear if you are intending to snorkel. The hotel is some distance north (about 3 - 4 hours) from Denpasar airport, but the journey by road is an interesting one through the countryside and partially along the coast. The village of Amed is a fairly small and strung out along the road, nowhere as busy as Sanur and other beach areas further south. Despite the long road journey we welcomed a few days spent at Palm Garden as really relaxing and enjoyable.
