  Awful experience with no hot water for two nights

  Very poor experience and extremely disappointing service.We stayed for 3 nights in October, and for 2 of those nights there was no proper hot water. The water was either completely cold or unreliable. A normal shower is a basic service, not a luxury.What made the situation worse was the hotel’s complete lack of responsibility. We reported the issue three times, and asked for compensation before checking out, but our concerns were responded to with a smile and empty politeness and even an insulting joke: free breakfast on our next stay. It was also clear that this was not an isolated problem: other guests were complaining about the same issue at reception. Despite this, nothing was done. As if the heating costs was more important than the guests' satisfaction.Overall, it felt like guest comfort was not a priority at all. A hotel that cannot provide hot water for most of a stay, and does not take complaints seriously, is simply not acceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

  Visted this hotel from 16th-19th Feb 2026 for my 40th birthday with my best friend we shared a double room on the 5th floor which various rooms near us were being renovated during day works started at 10am we'd have left most days just after 11am for whole day so missed most loud drilling banging etc obviously various floors were being upgraded presumably our room in next couple due room was still pretty modern with great fridge and safe if needed was also an iron and board not a steam iron with only 2 settings not the best desk top area and seat and other side tables were chipped/scuffed but again probably days away from upgrade had coffee pod machine/boiling water for tea wasent replenished with anywhere enough creamer sachets or sugar on arrival for 2 people for amount of days would ask at reception for more and be handed 3 sachets between two people also asked for bed to be made up changed once didnt happen between 16th & 19th nope asked for towels to be replished by chambermaid again no had to go down to reception and again given just two towels also everything in room was tidy but not a chance had floor been mopped from previous guests were evidently sticky marks over floor asked for it to be cleaned nope! My friend and I on the day of check out actually cleaned the most stubborn marks ourselves incase staff thought we'd had be so careless was laminate flooring was sticky with footwear on not best for a 4 star also when you asked for coffee stuff, towels bed made floor cleaned all ignored also was in need of ice was fab hotel had ice machines on levels 2/4/6/8 being on 5 I had to go up or down dont know if it was both lifts or one but to me neither would let me visit any other level to get ice from outside lift doors found myself waking down emergency concrete stairs 3 flights then a long walk around when im still healing from 2 complex breaks in my right leg I should have been able to get to level 4 or 6 to grab ice as I was on odd landing also had a few short power cuts which did get fixed quite quick on last day/ morning of leaving could have hindered our getting ready if it wasent quick as soon as it was apart from those few things lovely hotel cool large airy design also little help for anyone who may suffered a little problem we did twice when getting an uber this hotel is called Artemis Dutch Design Hotel! There also a not connected but not to far Dutch design hotel in vonderpark area dont get them mixed up or taxi fare could be a good bit more as we soon learned would definitely return to hotel can imagine how much nicer the rooms will be now redone this year thanks again for stay.

  Absolutely the worse hotel I have ever stayed in !

  Absolutely the worse hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying. We booked for 4 nights and stayed one and booked another hotel as it was so bad. Safe did not work, Aircon did not work. Bed... OMG it was so bad and I ended up with a backache the next day and got about 2 hours sleep. Prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked to be upgraded to be told that the same mattresses were used throughout the hotel... awful awful awful. No mattress toppers on a mattress that was probably around 3 inches at best! Staff really did not give a damn, not rude, just totally disinterested. Turned up on a Sunday to be told that no maintenance could be done as no one at work. No food or restaurant as it was a Sunday and also there was maintenance repair / upgrade work being done and we were not informed beforehand so the noise started early in the morning. Did not try the food on the Monday as called around urgently to find a fantastic hotel and seriously glad to have moved. DO NOT WASTE your money on this Hotel. It is less than adequate and not even worse a star but I cannot go without to organise this review that I hope saves other from wasting their money !!

  Ideally Located, Perfectly Peaceful

  We had a fantastic time! We timed our arrival perfectly and beat the check-in crowd, so we were in our room in no time. The location is unbeatable; you’re right in the heart of everything, but it’s still peaceful enough to get a great night's sleep.From the moment you walk in, the hotel feels bright, airy, and exceptionally clean. Our room was ready early, a great size, spotless, and had a lovely front-facing view. It had everything we needed, including a soft, comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after a long day.Incredible value for money! What sets this place apart is the team—everyone was exceptionally welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. It truly feels like a well-kept secret. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to others. A huge thank you for the wonderful experience.

  Good facilities, far from everything, and hospitality is not this place’s strong point

  The hotel room is very good, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast offers a good variety. The negative point is the service, which is not always courteous. There is an option for late check-out at €10 per hour. At 11:30, a man knocked on the door in a threatening manner, informing us that we had to go downstairs immediately to pay for the late check-out. If you plan to stay in Amsterdam and rely on public transportation to get around, this hotel is not a good option.
