Great location and good value. A top location for easy access to stations and the city centre activities. Well organised and comfortable for a night just to crash. Very good for the money. Clean and comfortable.

    Convenient location, room very small

    rating26 Apr 2026

This hotel is located close to Queen Street Station, where I arrived, in a quiet side street. It was clean, with courteous and helpful staff My room was 212, and I was grateful for a quiet, efficient lift nearby. The Breakfast Buffet was copious but cramped (photo).Like many modern hotel rooms, mine was compact (photo): apart from a pull-out stool under the beside cupboard, in a space where writing and computer use were inconvenient and uncomfortable, the only other place to sit was on the bed. I try to avoid duvets, but hotels now generally use nothing else; this one was bulky enough to keep the sleeper warm in Glasgow’s coldest periods, but far too thick for mild and warm weather. In order to roll the window blind (photo) up/down, it was necessary to crawl across the wide double bed. The view (photo) was uninspiring, but at least there was natural lighting. There was air conditioning, which would have been more welcome if the controls had been clear; despite repeated attempts during my two-day stay, I was unable to turn off the fan at night. The shower room (photo) was good (if small), but the taps in the shower did not appear to have any instructions, and I nearly scalded myself the first time I used it.The drinking water supply (photo) was an impressive example of imaginative branding, but the bottle top was almost too strong to be opened by my 83-year-old hands. The supply of powdered drinks by the bed was varied, including herb tea and hot chocolate; there was a notice in the hotel indicating that guests needed to inform Reception before midnight if they wanted their rooms serviced the next day; I did not do so, as my room was impeccably clean, but that meant that the supply of powdered drinks was not renewed. Donald Cameron, General Manager at The Z Hotel Glasgow, responded to this review Thank you so much for the detailed review! We appreciate the lovely comments about the staff and cleanliness especially as we strive to give the best customer service that we can. Our rooms are compact to offer our guests the best value that we can offer whilst providing a good nights sleep, and also being as central as one can be! In regard to the A/C and room supplies, our team are here 24 hours a day to help anyone with any assistance they may need for the room, wether it be helping with device or stocking up teas and coffees. If you ever stay with us again, please be assured that no ask is too small or big and we will always do our best to help where we can. Thank you once again for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon! All the best,Loreta

Excellent hotel, superb location and helpful staff

    rating19 Apr 2026

This is the second z Hotel I've stayed in and I have to say, this hotel chain are excellent. Superb central location for Glasgow (as they are in London too) everything is just easy access, right outside the door. It's in a lovely old Victorian printworks building with great character. I joined their memberships scheme which gave me 10% off my booking and also free coffee whenever and also the very impressive cheese and biscuits with a glass of wine offer that is included for members. The staff were all so friendly and helpful in answering our touristy questions. Have had an amazing time here and will certainly be back and this will be my hotel of choice. I look forward to trying out the other Z hotels around the UK! Donald Cameron, General Manager at The Z Hotel Glasgow, responded to this review Thank you so much for the lovely review! We are glad to hear that you have been enjoying staying with Z Hotels as well as enjoying the character of our building in Glasgow. We are always happy to help anyone looking to explore with any insights, and hope you'll be able to enjoy the cheese and wine with us again soon. Looking forward to having you back! All the best,Loreta
