    Paradise by the sea

    rating05 Sept 2023

Having already been 5 times in the past, we were thrilled to be back this year. Simple but charming Balinese style bungalows in a wonderful tropical garden, a wonderful swimming pool. Delicious simple family cooking in the restaurant. The Fresh fish was amazing. Such friendly staff, with great service. We will be back.

Authentic, kind and beautiful Bali - worth flying 10.000 miles for.

    rating31 Aug 2023

Incredibly charming and beautiful place - the epitome of Balinese beauty, kindness and hospitality. Last year - in September 2022 - we came for a couple of nights and we ended up staying there for our entire vacation (just spending two days in Ubud). The staff is wonderful (kind, welcoming, professional, but with deep Balinese kindness), the place is beautiful : instead of being packed with hastily decorated concreate bungalows, you will find spacious, spread out wooden traditional dwellings with more-than-adequate comfort surrounding a well maintained green lawn, with beautiful frangipani trees and flowers. These wooden bungalows, beautiful from the outside and from the inside, are nicely furnished and just meters away from the beautiful, large, partly shaded swimming pool, which - in turn - is no more than 30 meters away from the beach and from the sea, The beach is great, and even more beautiful underwater (the "biorock" project has managed to grow amazing colorful coral, no more than 50 meters away from the shore... ).All in all, this is simply paradise, and one of the main reasons we came back this year, in September 2023.Whereas in 2022 the restaurant was closed (except for breakfast) , due to the aftershock of the Covid pandemic affecting badly tourism in Bali, it is now open and just delicious (both the Greek dishes - very well made, even if that sounds strange - and the Indonesian ones. For instance, their Nasi Campur and Soto Ayam are very tasty.)And all of that comes at a very reasonable price !(PS: if you're looking for ultra-modern room amenities, like hairdryers, television, minibar... you're in the wrong place. But is that really the reason you're coming to Bali? Aircon is very quiet and efficient, the superb bed is surrounded by an ample mosquito net, the bathroom is clean and well equipped, and there's ample storage room for clothes - these are the only amenities that matter to us).

NOT AS ADVERTISED. POOL AND RESTAURANT UNDER RENOVATION

    rating18 Feb 2023

This hotel has the potential to be great, but unfortunately there are several aspects that have been severely let down and not reflected accurately on the description. The pool has been drained and is undergoing renovations. This was not advertised on the website. The restaurant is closed and is undergoing renovations. This was not advertised on the website. The room we stayed in had an outdoor shower, with another 2 storey room next to it. The 2 storey room next door looked directly into our outdoor shower, meaning other guests can watch you shower in your bathroom. The staff had no change when paying for items at reception, and were not willing to go and get the change, and instead kept the money. In summary, if this hotel was fully functioning, it would be a good option and good locations, but unfortunately the inaccurate advertising means that you would be better choosing somewhere else.

    Balinese feel, amazing gardens.

    rating16 Jul 2019

The first thing to greet you at Taman Selini is the fragrant smell of frangipani's. The garden is exquisite, lush and tropical, and the accomodation is traditional and comfortable. We stayed as a family of four for 6 nights, and had a fantastic time here. The rooms and bathrooms are clean but not always functional. The upstairs shower flowed from a hose shape which flooded the floor, and my husband had to clean and re angle our shower to stop it flooding our bathroom floor also. The only reasons I didn't give Taman Selini 5 stars is the lack of fridge to store water/drinks (it gets pretty hot up here), and no tea/coffee/kettle facitlities. If you wanted a hot beverage you had to pay for it.Breakfast was a bit limited but still okay for us, we are not too fussy. The location is perfect, right on the beach, close to dive places (Ocean Dreams are amazing),restaurants and mini mart. I could have spent the whole week just reading on the day bed, cocooned by the beautiful garden.I can almost guarantee we will return.
