Great views and privacy

The Uma Agung (Villa) hotel is nicely laid out close to the Sidemen rice terraces, with rooms dispersed on hilly terrain so that you have nice views and privacy. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped and very clean and each have a private terrace. The swimming pool is another perk, as is the restaurant.

I stayed here for one night, as part of a travel group, which was booked on my behalf. The accommodation itself is very basic and a little dated, although don’t let this deter you, as it is traditional Balinese decor and you feel relaxed and at home. Personally, I think the owners should invest in a content creator to update the photographs and marketing, as this place is way more beautiful than the pics show. The pool area is so beautiful, with a stunning back drop; there is a small restaurant and the grounds are really pretty. There are a few local cafes, bars and a stunning luxury bar a few minutes walk away (sadly I cannot remember the name). This place is not fancy but please don’t be put off by the pics, I really recommend this place, out of the 8 places I stayed during my trip.

Beautiful little resort. Nice rooms with good beds. Our room, 206, overlooked the pool and restaurant. The gardens and setting are lovely.Massage was good.Restaurant was also good, tasty food. A few cafes and restaurants very close by.Only bad thing the wet bathroom....water floods bathroom to get to drain.

Lovely accommodation in Sideman amongst the hills and rice terraces. Each room is slightly different....206 had a wet bathroom with an open high window. Room was lovely overlooking poor and across from restaurant. Comfortable bed. Only downside was bathroom totally wet after showering due to drain on opposite side of room. Restaurant was good. Massage also good.

So there’s probably more luxurious places to stay in Sideman if that’s your style but this place can’t really be beaten for it’s price and Balinese authenticity. The rooms are villas and they are all a little different so definitely ask to see the options. There is no A/C in the rooms but as it’s high into the hills, it shouldn’t be needed. There is a fan provided in each room. Some of the bathrooms are partially or fully open to the elements - I liked it but some might not. The view of Mt Aging from the pool or any of the poolside rooms is simply sublime…
