Location

The resort is situated in the artist community of Penestanan, on the Sayan Ridge, just a few minutes' drive from the centre of Ubud, the island's cultural centre. It is situated about 40 km away from the airport and within an easy and scenic drive from Kuta, Seminyak or Sanur. The Ayung River is around 6 km away and the Monkey Forest is some 8 km away. Shopping is available at Ubud Market, around 7 km from the hotel.

Facility

Guests can enjoy the pleasant ambience of one of the 12 villas/houses. The following room categories are also available: 5 suites and 76 double rooms. Rooms

Rooms feature a kitchen and a bathroom, and air conditioning ensures just the right temperature. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience.     Very friendly staff. They very helpful bringing in our luggage. Everybody was very polite. The food was amazing. The massage was the best massage I’ve ever had. Rooms were cleaned daily with new clean towels and sheets. The fresh cut flowers were a delightful touch to the beds.

    I’ve had two stays here. It’s hard to explore anywhere else. Wonderful place to stay. Every walking path and space is beautiful. Even when they are booked it remains a private oasis! I lost count of the privately placed pools.

    Amazing stay here surrounded by Balinese flora and fauna, pools and great staff.The bed was super comfy, breakfast was plentiful and tasty.Location in Sayan is great, 10-15 minute scooter to the edge of Ubud.The staff were always happy and obliging, nothing was an issue.Began to feel like home.

    AVOID AVOID AVOID !! I had the misfortune of being booked into this hovel of hotel. I was assured it was 4/5* however, in reality it would be lucky if it was classed as a 1* I was served mouldy food (but the restaurant manager was adamant “it is residue off the pan” - 3 supervisors agreed it was mould and should never have left the kitchen!!)I raised serious safety issues regarding one of the pools (metal spike sticking up from an uncovered light in the pool that could very easily be stood on by children and/or adults). Also the lifebelt was rotten. It was split all over it and was actually just sitting in between some plants so not even immediately visible should it be needed. The pool area itself was thick with years of rust, the loungers were just as bad yet the HOTEL MANAGER simply wrote that it “needs maintenance” . She couldn’t have cared less if her life depended on it!!On my first day there (out of 4) I had 3 room changes and management and staff were adamant each time it was an upgrade. One room was so basic that I’m surprised they actually charged people to stay in it. Very small room, bathroom consisted of a toilet, a stand for towels and a rusty shower that was hanging off the wall. NO SINK though cos that was in the bedroom near the door you enter from outside (they called this a super deluxe room 🤦‍♀️ And another ‘super deluxe room’ was full of bugs that were in the bed, bath, sink, towels and the room hadn’t been cleaned in months as is very evident on the photos I took. There’s also some sort of animal scurrying around at night but the staff will gaslight you into thinking you’ve dreamt it!!Lighting around the resort was very poor and gets less and less the further away from reception you are. Other guests were checking out because of similar issues and stating that they have been misled as it was nothing like the photos (which were taken at least 8 years ago but still use them today to advertise the hotel). I could continue with valid reasons why NOT to use this hotel but it’s your decision. There are many other hotels in Ubud and the surrounding areas so choose wisely as the management will tell you immediately that you will not be getting anything refunded 😤

    Very pretty campus for the resort. Lots of greenery and pools, extremely pretty to look at. Unfortunately our air conditioner didn’t work the first night so it was awful but they did fix it the next night. Our villa was really pretty but bugs do get inside. We had to request themTo vacuum it since there were bugs all over the bed canopy. The sun beds are pretty but dirty as well and could use more frequent cleaning. The outdoor bath was gorgeous but after the first night we ran out of hot water so couldn’t use the tub or shower really. Had to shower really quickly in cold water. Breakfast was good but the other offerings of food at the restaurant weren’t great at all. Not really walkable at all to get to downtown ubud you have to take a car or shuttle. The staff were very friendly though. But didn’t love the no hot water or that we couldn’t really walk anywhere from the hotel. It is the jungle so lots of bugs in the room but it did have a mosquito net around the bed. Very instagramable but would have preferred hot water and a location that was more walkable. Loved all the greenery and pools though. Water in the pools isn’t heated just to be aware. We did end up leaving 2 nights early to go to sanur. I wouldn’t stay here again.
