    A Sterling Experience

    rating11 Sept 2025

We had a brilliant couple of days at the Sterling Villas - it was lovely to have our own ‘mini villa’ In the safety of a hotel complex. We had breakfast included and this was top notch - both with a buffet and menu selection on offer! The only piece of feedback we would have is that there could be more towels left in rooms to include a hand towel and the emphasis put on charge for any stained / dirtied linen, added a stress to what was meant to be a relaxing stay. We never incurred a charge but had been so careful re our use of suncream, drinking and eating etc!

From beginning to end my stay was absolutely amazing!

    rating06 Sept 2025

From beginning to end my stay was absolutely amazing! The entire staff, entire facility, room, pool in my villa and daily breakfast were exceptional. Im a solo female traveler and i felt incredibly safe, I loved that there is a guard with a locked gate at the beginning of the villas. These villas are tucked away, but not too far that you can’t easily take a 7 min grab to go into town for a coffee or shopping. The cleanliness of my room and bathroom was exceptional when I arrived and kept that way throughout my stay with daily room make ups. They have a restaurant on site, spa (with amazing massages), gym, communal pool along with the private villa pool. I would completely disregard any of the review reviews that mention construction, there’s obvious construction happening all over the island of Bali and you can see that these are newly renovated gorgeous villas but none of the construction directly affects your stay. The road leading to your villa is completely finished and beautiful, same with all the surrounding areas around your villa. I would highly recommend Sterling villas for your next trip to Bali.

Don’t book here! Stay at one of the other beautiful villas nearby!

It’s June 10th, and we’re still here — stuck, because we don’t want to check out and still get charged. This hotel has proven it cannot be trusted, and we’re now working directly with Agoda, who has been more helpful than anyone at this property has even tried to be.I’m a hotel manager, and I would never handle a guest experience like this. The lack of basic hospitality, communication, and accountability here is actually wild.Let’s start from the beginning. When we arrived, I asked to be taken to an ATM. The one he brought me to didn’t work, so he took me to a random store that charged a fee to get cash — felt like a scam. That night, we ordered plain olive oil pasta and garlic bread, and it came with meat on top. After I complained, they remade it and it came back cold — honestly felt like they just pulled the chicken off and resent it. As a vegan, that’s disgusting. The next day, we went to use the gym. It was under construction, with no prior warning. I already took pre workout (IYkYK) After complaining, they texted us saying the gym would be under construction for the rest of our stay. Well duhThen there’s the broken front door…Housekeeping never showed up unless we requested it — and even then it was half-done- until today. We ran out of toilet paper, clean water, and towels multiple times. There is mold everywhere, and construction noise daily. 8am until midnight apparently. One day I took the shuttle with Arista, who is absolutely amazing. So kind, helpful, and professional — she is def the bright light.Yesterday we decided to use the shuttle again to go to Dreamland Beach so my bf could surf. We texted the hotel — they told us to meet in 5 minutes. When we got there, they said the shuttle wasn’t on property (we could see it), then said it didn’t have gas, and then that the driver was on break. After 20minutes, Yoga took us.I told him we’d be ready to leave at 4:30pm, and said “please don’t forget us” (half-joking). At 4:10, we texted the hotel for pickup. They said “10 minutes.” After waiting in the meeting point, we followed up & was told the driver ran out of gas & it would be another 40 minutes. Then they stopped replying altogether. So yeah — we WALKED back from Dreamland. My bf was barefoot btw. When we got back, we asked to speak to the manager. They said he wasn’t on-site. 10mins later — surprise! He appears. He apologized and asked for a chance to make things better. We walked back to our villa — & were hit with toxic smoke being blown in. I got an instant migraine (I have epilepsy). We went back to the manager — he said it was “normal.”We tried to shake it off and go to dinner, which was great — until we came back at 9pm to find construction workers on our roof, with a clear view into our “private” villa and pool. They were only on OUR roof, which felt weird and unsafe. I ran to the front desk — another apology. It took over an hour to get them off the roof. Ruined our night. My bf had been texting the hotel on WhatsApp, & they offered a partial refund… only to delete the messages after. LOL. Too bad we have screenshots. The manager scheduled a meeting with us the next morning — just to ask if we were going to check out. He offered a refund for the unused nights. No sh** sir. Why would we pay for days we didn’t stay? & why are you trying to get rid of us instead of fixing the problems? It really feels like they want us to leave, like we’re the problem — instead of taking any accountability for what’s gone down.I can’t wait to see how much worse this gets after they see my honest review. Still giving them time before I take this to my social media following, but the clock is ticking. We stayed at PinkCoco last week — also booked through Agoda — and it was amazingggg. One issue with construction drilling and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite and comped two glasses of wine — without us even asking. That’s hospitality. If you’re considering Sterling Villas — don’t do it.Go to PinkCoco or any of the other gorgeous villas nearby. You’re welcome.@arm.and.a / @armandacreatesAlso- after all of our complaining construction was being done on our roof again today!!!! -_- They only stopped after we complained. So ridiculous!!!

The staff and room were amazing!

    rating16 May 2025

I was shocked to see how many bad reviews there was about this resort. Personally, the staff was amazing and so sweet! The hospitality here is unmatched. My room was amazing as well! It was super clean and a lot bigger than what I expected. It is in a bit of a secluded area, but grab and taxi are easy to get from here. Some grab drivers did have some problems finding the lobby but the receptionist helped give directions if needed. Tias, Hadis, and yoga made my stay very special. They were so sweet and accommodating. The food and room service was excellent as well. I’m not too sure if the bad reviews about this place was before they started renovating the property, but I truly enjoyed my stay here.

Don't stay here - nothing like the photos, unclean, unsafe

    rating04 May 2025

We left after one night of our three night stay due to the villa being very dirty, unsafe as loose electrical wires in our unit, air conditioning not working, advertised facilities not available and general area felt extremely unsafe (open use of meth on neighbouring property).
