  Could be so much better if looked after

  On arrival we were taken aback and not in a good way. The place was eerily quiet and we appeared to be on our own. Check in was 2pm and as we arrived at 11, i asked if we could have early access to the room which was declined stating that our room wasn't ready. It was unoccupied.Realistically i have no doubt the hotel was once a beautiful well maintained place, but this is not the case anymore. The pool is green and unappealing, the large umbrella pictured doesn't exist (no shade) and one of the 2 loungers was broken.The room was clean on arrival however there was no drinking water/pool towels/coffee making facilities. The staff were appehensive about any request ie a kettle but were quite comfortable asking my partner if they could borrow his speaker?! I asked out of curiosity why the room wasn't cleaned and was advised that is was hotel policy not to clean it every day. There are far better hotels in Ubud. My advice is avoid.

  Stayed here for three days. The rooms are nice and with AC. Pool are has a river that flows through it. The hotel area has that temple aura.The staff/owner is very friendly and helpful with transports and information. There are some good restaurants nearby if you 500-1000 m. There is also a dog who will great you and maby bark a little but he is superfriendly

  I had the privilege of staying at Tukad Mas Cottages for over 2 months and would like to share my experience in case it helps someone decide on staying here. I came to Ubud to experience Yoga Barn and chose Tukad Mas for its proximity to town but also a little distance to feel like I was living a local lifestyle. What I gained is so much more. Sure, you will need a scooter to get around or a 20-minute walk to Yoga Barn… not even that far to closer dining spots and the main Hanoman Street. On arrival my heart sank a little as the rooms weren’t as perfect as I envisioned and the first room, I tried was a bit musty (happens all over Ubud). Yet the staff did not stop until I found the perfect room for me. Once the air conditioning was on, there was no smell whatsoever… and the air con worked perfectly. The breakfasts are perfect and yes, the famous pancake is a treat! The fruit always fresh and coffee just how I like it. My bed was very comfortable, the cleanliness of this place is exceptional, they take pride in the property and it is run with love, passion and kindness. What I got here was more than just a comfy bed, private room, great food and the most beautiful pool. I received kindness, love, support, I gained friends and a Balinese family. It is very difficult to leave, and I will be back to stay here again one day. If you are searching for a special experience then this is the place, if you are looking for 5-star design, then perhaps a room elsewhere would suit… here you will get 5 star authenticity, privacy, assistance, hospitality, smiles, laughter and even dancing!   cheap lodging in the Ubud area that is not cheap.

  On December 24, my partner and I decided to take a vacation to Bali before I did a health check-up in Surabaya. And we chose the Ubud area as a place to rest. The lodging we chose was Tukad Mas, which has now changed to Tukad White House. Interested in the river owned by this inn. The owner, Mr. Made, is very kind and helpful. Like family. The facilities are very satisfying. We got the room we wanted. Great service. For me it was very calming to hear the river flow. Exceptional natural relaxation. Thank you Mr. Made and his employees. we will return to stay at your place.preferably from the airport, ask for lodging to pick up because it is cheaper than taxi from the airport. we also know from Mr. Made the owner of the bungalow.

  The most wonderful staff

  Arrived in ubud after a tiring trip and tukad mas bungalows made us feel so welcome carrying our bags to our rooms. Although a little further out of the main centre a 20 minute walks gets you to all the tourist areas. The room itself was all we could have asked for extremely light and clean with excellent air con. I can say I've never stayed somewhere with such pleasant friendly and accommodating Staff who never pass without a hello. The breakfast at the bungalows was wonderful brought straight to your room each morning. We requested breakfast outside of the 8-11 hours and which they were happy to do. The pool at the bungalows was clean and tidy and the staff work tirelessly always cleaning the accommodation from top to bottom. I would most definitely recommend the bungalows based on the staff alone if I ever find myself back in ubud I will definitely come back to tukad mas!
