    Pleasant stay, needs some TLC.

    rating27 Nov 2025

We had a nice stay here. Staff were fabulous and so was the breakfast. Communication with staff is great and really easy. Location wise it is in the middle of nowhere so be cautious as there are no shops close or anywhere to walk to really apart from one restaurant down the street. Pool is nice but gets very dirty as it’s situated under a tree. Sun beds in the garden are pretty filthy so I couldn’t some da day on them. Rooms were really nice, bed is super comfy. Showers don’t work very well, water pressure is pretty poor. Be careful of the bugs, there are thousands around. Even with doors closed they still find a way in.

Paradise on the outskirts of Ubud

The Villa was amazing! Bed was super huge and comfortable, loved the outdoor style bathroom, pool was a great size, lots of places to sunbathe and relax. Massage and restaurant on site. Caters to all needs. Also a shuttle bus runs in and out of Ubud centre. Absolutely loved out stay!

    5 Starts - Great Stay!

    rating27 Jan 2025

I traveled with my mum and 7-year-old daughter to Villa Kayu Lama. We stayed at a One-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool and Free Benefit (booked via Booking.com).Their customer service was superb. They were always ready to help and make our stay extra special. The food tasted homemade and felt very authentic. On my birthday the staff decorated my bed and bathtub with a selection of vivid orange and red petals - it was SO beautiful! I was surprised and delighted! The property is located in the middle of rice fields offering stunning views in a peaceful setting. We did a yoga class and massages and we loved those too. I adventured on an early morning run to Tegenungan Waterfall (about 5km) which was one of the highlights of my entire trip! I had the opportunity to see and experience the waterfall before the crowds and enjoy the sunrise running across the rice fields. I'll never forget.I'd recommend this property to couples or families - fantastic stay!

Stayed here for 6 nights arriving on Christmas Day. We did have a slight issues when we first arrived but they did offer something off our bill. Its a good quite location but within easy reach of many of the attractions Ubud offers. We ate here quite alot and the food was always delicious and fresh. Room was spacious and clean

    It was a terrible experience.

    rating23 Dec 2024

I had a disappointing experience at the villa, primarily due to the incorrect and misleading information provided by the owner. Contrary to what was advertised, there was no terrace or balcony, and amenities such as a microwave, dishwasher, barbecue, dining table, cleaning products, children's high chair, kitchenware, minibar, complimentary daily afternoon tea, hand sanitiser, and a power socket near the bed were all absent. One major issue was that the villa did not resemble the photos displayed on the booking site. The washroom looked disgusting, and I wouldn't have booked this villa without knowing the toilet was exposed. They have shown the wrong images.Additionally, the dining experience was quite poor. The food served was often inedible, and I encountered uncooked dishes during what was supposed to be a romantic candlelight dinner. As for the complimentary shuttle service to Ubud city centre that was promised, it fell short of expectations. Instead of reaching the centre, passengers were dropped off 1.5 kilometres away, and the driver dared to ask for extra money to take them the remaining distance. Before my stay at this villa, I had stayed at another villa booked through MakeMyTrip, which was less expensive and far superior in quality. The prices for food at this villa were exorbitant, yet the portion sizes were disappointingly small. Every order we placed arrived either half-empty or lacking flavour, and the overall experience was exacerbated by the staff's dry and rude demeanour. They completely ignored our feedback, treating us more like a source of income than valued guests. After these experiences, I found the ratings for this villa suspect and misleading. It is disheartening to see such establishments thrive while offering subpar hospitality.Look at the pool condition. It is dirty and hasn't been cleaned in years. It has dead insects on the surface and debris at the bottom. The stagnant water looks uninviting. They are cheating and scamming visitors.
