    Vila Puriartha, Ubud, Bali

    rating12 Jul 2025

Room was large. Bed was comfy. Good thinking with mosquito nets but only top floor rooms have mosquito nets. Bottom floor rooms were suffering from mosquito bites. They could have offered to light a mosquito coil since they wasn’t any mosquito nets on the units below. Strange noise with the water pump that keeps buzzing every second. We had to call them up to our room to listen and ascertain what the sound was and where it came from. But they finally turn off the water pump to stop the noise so we could at least get some sleep. The plumbing in this building is old! Another family member had a plumping issue because you were not allowed to throw toilet-paper into the toilet bowl! You can only wash by water!! There is a pool behind the building. The water was cold, about 20-21 deg c. The wash basins are outside the shower room (in the bedroom), the toilet and the shower room are separate rooms. But this is doable as the whole shower room, toilet and wash basin area is in a separate section. Convenient to walk to shops and restaurants. Staff was also friendly and helpful.

It's a great budget accommodation for solo travellers!

It's an ideal place to stay for solo traveller who wants to explore Ubud; the room was clean, and the location was strategic. Mini mart, pharmacy and book store are across the street. There are plenty of restaurants and cafe at your door steps!

No atmosphere. No food. On busy road. Left early.

    rating12 Oct 2024

Booked for 11 nights but left after one and moved to Tegal Sari nearby. I felt misled by the reviews which mentioned beautiful breakfasts (they offer no food at all) and lots of reviews on booking.com that gave it a 10 score and I question whether they were authentic. Many are clustered around the same days. This is a small place with a small pool and only two not so clean looking deck chairs. It is on the main road and lacked atmosphere. If I wanted light in my room I had to open the curtains but then everyone walking past could see in. Walking to the rooms you go down a lane that is a bit depressing with a disused fountain and in need of some garden care. My bedroom room was ok and looked like in the picture (bed was comfortable) but room had a high window with mesh and mosquitos came in and heard noise from the adjoining property through it. I didn't feel like I was on a relaxing holiday at this property. It had no atmosphere and for A$110 a night with no food, it was expensive. When I left and went to another place I looked at a variety of places and for less than that budget I could get really nice hotels with breakfast and pretty pools to hang out at (eg Tegal Sari, Honeymoon etc).

    Clean and basic

    rating26 Jul 2023

We booked Villa Puriartha at the last minute due to changes in our travel plans. The hotel and our room (Deluxe Double Room) were both fairly basic, however, it was all clean and everything worked fine. You are required to request room cleaning and towel swapping as a move to be more environmentally friendly which was good to see. We did not eat in the hotel so I cannot comment on this. There are many restaurants on the road around the hotel as well as a pharmacy and Circle K nearby which was good. The staff are very friendly and were helpful in assisting the booking of different activities in Ubud.To get into the main centre of Ubud you can either walk down Jl. Monkey Forest, however, if you are not a fan of the monkeys, I would suggest walking along Jl. Hanoman towards Ubud Palace.

    Terrible experience

    rating22 Jan 2023

As a return guest of this villa and having been to Indonesia over 30 times, the way I was treated was the worst I have ever been treated in Indonesia and was outright disgusting. As I arrived late (which I had informed the hotel about), I was given a room right next to the reception which I knew from experience was extremely noisy due to the villa being located on a main street. In the morning after getting about 2 hours sleep, I asked to move rooms which I had requested when making the booking 4 months prior to my stay. The manager was extremely rude about it, said that it was my fault that I did not want to pay for a more expensive room (why would a solo traveller want to pay for and need a duplex suite when there were plenty of smaller rooms away from the reception) and refused to let me cancel my reservation despite it being the hotel's choice and not due to Booking.com's rules. I would strongly advise against staying here.
