    A lovely stay in a very clean comfortable hotel it was so quiet.The gardens are beautiful and the pools excellent.Room was large and they have a large balcony.

    Our recent stay at Villa Sonia Ubud was extremely disappointing.This was our third time staying at this hotel. We had always trusted the place, recommended it to friends, and this year we even brought some of them with us.Unfortunately, during this stay 400 € disappeared from our room.The money was kept in a zipped pocket of a backpack in our room. In the morning we checked and everything was there. We left the hotel around 8:30 AM. When we returned around lunchtime, the room had already been cleaned. Later in the afternoon we went out again, and when we came back in the evening the mosquito repellent had been placed in the room. This means that hotel staff entered the room twice during that day.The next day around noon we checked the backpack again and discovered that two €200 banknotes were missing.Only my husband and I had the key to the room and it was always locked when we were not inside. The only other access during the day was by hotel staff.We informed the management immediately. We were told an internal check was done, but no explanation was provided and no one was held responsible. Even more concerning was the fact that the security camera covering that area was not working.Because of the situation, we had no choice but to file a report with the local police.What disappointed us the most was not only the incident itself but the lack of a serious attempt to resolve the situation.We are sharing this experience so future guests can be aware and take extra precautions with their valuables.

    Lovely small hotel in Ubud

    This was my second stay at Villa Sonia. It's a beautiful little hotel in a quiet part of Ubud. Lovely pool area and gardens and lots of places to eat nearby without being bothered by traffic. An easy walk to the Monkey Forest, longer to the other parts of Ubud.

    This is the second time we’ve visited Villa Sonia and we were not disappointed. This resort is a great place to stay in Ubud. Beautiful gardens,clean rooms friendly staff. Close to restaurants,minimart,French bakery. Warung Be Pasih is a great place to eat,just across the road.We arrived early for check-in, but they had our room ready before time so were allowed in. A nice bunch of fresh flowers,fruit were on the desk along with a bottle of chilled wine and glasses.Service,food,reception were all exceptional.Will stay here again.

    Staff are so helpful and smiley, nothing was a problem. We were in Villa 10 next to the 2nd pool. The wifi is better near the first pool. Breakfast was an assortment of Indonesia and Western items, you could get omelette and eggs freshly cooked. Happy cocktail hour was available. Rooms were prepared nightly for mosquitoes by the staff. Located in Ubud village which has some nice eatery places and drinks.
