Tranquil rooms and pool, let down by staff

    rating04 Feb 2025

Yuliati House is one of the weirder places I've stayed. First of all, you come in off the road and walk through other homestays and people's homes with rooms open to the alleyway before reaching Yuliati House, and then there are the staff. But first, the positives. The room we had was comfortable and spacious, with a large bed and a balcony that had a lovely view of greenery across the valley. The shower had hot water but the floor tiles were in need of replacement. The swimming pool was lovely, big enough to actually swim in and surrounded by trees and plants. The other guests were friendly. Those were the positives. Unfortunately Yuliati House is let down by the staffing. The staff do not offer any information - nothing about breakfast, tours, activities or about any services they offer at all (and I am an Indonesian speaker). You have to ask for everything (in contrast to other tourist spots where people are all too keen to tell you about tours, activities and travel options). We ended up not having the breakfast because I felt too awkward to keep asking questions. I had to ask to have our room cleaned each time, which is much needed because the ants are worse than I have experienced elsewhere in Indonesia. One of the staff had an odd manner and spoke to me very abruptly which I found jarring and unnecessary. When I asked if we could have a late check-out because our flight wasn't until midnight, I was told no. We were not given the option to leave our luggage after checking out either. I had read other reviews of Yuliati House about how friendly the staff were. I can only assume the staff has changed, because this was not our experience at all.

    Great hotel for the price!

This hotel ticked the boxes for hubby and I. Clean, comfortable, short walk to everything and lovely pool. Like a homestay (I think), with some Balinese families up the front and VERY quiet at the back. A beautiful traditional feel to the whole property. A short walk to eats, shopping etc. Staff were very helpful. My hubby enjoyed breakfast delivered to our room too.

Small family business - felt like home

    rating23 Aug 2023

The staff was very friendly, communicative and helpful. The breakfast had no huge variety but tasted delicious and the staff brought it even to our balcony. The hotel has a very central location but it was very calm instead of busy and loud. It was possible to go everywhere by feet and had nice food spots nearby. The atmosphere was very familiar and they took so much time for us.

i stayed at Yuliati house ten years ago.this year, when i had my ubud trip in .june,i stayed here again.and it is the last place i stayed.i stayed for two nights only. the room i stayed just beside the pool.it is very nice.it has a bathtub and a fridge,i love its pool, big enough to soak into it.breakfast is delicious,i tried veggies omelette and banana pancake during the stay, all come with fruit platter and coffee or tea. there is a talking bird at the entrance of the homestay, very interesting.staffs here helpful, but they are busy,so must be patience when check in or check out.i am happy to come back again, and will stay at the same room again if i have chance.

    Very good price, good location

    rating07 Jun 2023

I went to this place for 4 nights during my trip in Bali. I believe this accommodation is managed by a family. Their little girl is adorable. This place is located only a few steps away from Ubud city center. They offer motorbike rental and other excursions. The room was clean and in a good condition. There's a nice pool where you can swim. The place is lovely and has some elements of Balinese architecture and it also have its own temple. Overall this house has an excellent value. The price is very good for a few nights If you want to stay in the town of Ubud this is the perfect place.
