    Comfort and Calm in the Heart of Gili Air

    After a horrible experience at a previous hotel, checking into Scallywags Smugglers Hideaway felt like such a relief—it was like stepping into a private sanctuary. I was warmly welcomed, and the calm, leafy surroundings helped me instantly unwind.My room was beautifully decorated in a South European coastal style, with a large, comfy bed, spacious bathroom, and thoughtful amenities like a fridge, water dispenser, bathrobe, and toiletries.Guests can use the facilities at the Scallywags Beach Club, which is just a short walk away. The included breakfast was simple but satisfying, and the beachfront setting made it a lovely start to the day.This place really turned my Gili Air experience around. I’d absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and peace on the island.

    Scallywags Smugglers Hideaway is a great place to stay. I have a leg injury and the staff added a mattress topper to soften the bed which made the bed very comfortable. The room was very cool, the bathroom clean and the filtered water was greatly appreciated. The 10 minute walk for breakfast on the beach was ok as the view was lovely. Other reviewers have complained about the early morning call to prayer but it adds to a wonderful experience in a beautiful place

    We stayed here for our duration on Gili Air and the accommodation was one of the best we’ve stayed at on our months trip! The place is a short walk from the port which makes all the difference when you have bags, the staff are very welcoming and informative. The entrance to the accommodation leads you via the enclosed pool area which is amazing, each room has a private door which has a small outdoor area outside your room which is great! The room itself was also great, very clean, great AC, great bed, great bathroom. If we decide to come back there’s no doubt we will be staying here again! Thanks!

    Dirty and a lot of insects

    We have stayed 3 times before at Scallywags and they were all good. This time it was terrible. We arrived at the reception were there was nobody, after texting them someone came. No warm greetings, no welcome drink, not even asking how our trip was. Not how we are used to being greeted in Bali. We were the only occupied room in the hotel, the room itself was ok, but not very clean.We went to the pool and within 30 minutes we were bitten by insects. Also the pool and the pool beds were dirty. Instead of staying 5 days as planned we left after 1 day. We complained at the reception but they just said take the complaints to the company were we booked the room. Not recommended ScallywagsManagement, Manager at Scallywags Beach Club, responded to this review I'm very sorry for this experience at Smugglers Hideaway as this is not an acceptable standard.We have implemented new pest control precautions and cleaning schedule of pool area to ensure an experience like this cannot be repeated.We do hope to see you again so we can reproduce the good times spent with us at Scallywags.Sincerely, Management

    Great atmosphere and show. The food is generous, fresh and healthy. Highly recommended.A good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner and perfect for families.
