This place is gorgeous and has a hint of lavender when you enter. The breakfast is amazing and our room was spacious. Just a beautiful property.

Great Location Near Cork (with Breakfast and Parking!)

    rating15 Apr 2026

Pros: We had an incredibly spacious room with a separate, glass-enclosed sitting room that we loved. The beds were exceptionally comfortable (pillows, on the other hand, were SO thin and not comfy). Ample free parking. And the breakfast is incredible! (Potentially the entire reason to stay here.) The lovely women in the dining area took such good care of us, and we ate so well! Also, the bathroom had a towel warmer and was updated and quite spacious. The location is great, if you're looking to stay just outside of downtown Cork (not walkable, but within a few minutes' drive). We didn't have a chance to enjoy it because we were so busy while we were there, but there's a lovely courtyard garden in this hotel.Cons: This is an old building, and there are signs of age and of wear/tear in the room. The furniture is older, the carpet is questionable, and there are definitely caulk, peeling paint, etc. issues. I also saw cobwebs in the ceiling corners of our room. This gives the impression of the hotel not being super clean, although I think it probably is. The toilet in our room ran the entire 5 days we were there, even though we reported it as soon as we arrived and were told a maintenance person would fix it. There are no hooks in the bathroom, which is one of my biggest pet peeves.

    Good choice

I stayed in the Belvedere Lodge with a couple of friends .We came to Cork to see a weekend rugby match. We wanted somewhere warm, comfortable and reasonably priced for one night as we were not going to be in the room for long. The Belvedere was a good choice.I would like to mention the breakfast staff. They were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was very good.I read a review about the hotel from January 2024 saying that their rooms were cold. This was not the case with our room. Our room was very warm which we appreciated on a cold wet January evening.Hotel prices in Cork can be pricey. The Belvedere was good value.

    Old style refinement.

    rating11 Oct 2025

This was my final stopover before I left Ireland. The room was comfortable and I was delighted that there was a bath. Breakfast was perfect, with a cereal and fruit buffet with the most amazing creamy natural Greek yoghurt. The full Irish had to be one of the top breakfasts I ate over my 10 day trip, although I don't really have any complaints from the other B&Bs I stayed in. Apparently there was a very regular bus service that went into the centre of Cork across the road. I was going to head into town for the evening, but after a 3hr drive down from Doolin I decided to stay in the Lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful. An enjoyable stopover.
