    Yes thanks for the deer.

    rating10 Jun 2026

This place was one of our faves in Ireland. The staff was very accommodating. I am sure they even requested a herd of deer come to greet us. We had a wonderful stay here and loved the history of the place. A definite must stay.

    Nice but can improve

    rating30 May 2026

Booked in for one night as attending an event nearby. Very impressive from outside and receptionist who checked us in was extremely professional and friendly. We were given a card to get a free prosecco in the bar if we wished. Our room was on the 4th floor and while nicely decorated it was a bit dull especially given there were only 2 small windows, however view out to front of hotel & garden was lovely. Fine sized bathroom with lovely shower & great pressure in the water. Lovely towels and toiletries provided. We had food in the cellar bar and it was fine - fish & chips and a sirloin steak. We returned later that evening around 10.45pm and had a drink, very friendly barman who definitely made up for lack of atmosphere in the bar.Breakfast was probably where we felt the hotel was below par - fruit already in little bowls and consisted of melon & apples. Had little jars of yogurt with coulis and some granola in a dish to add. No cereals on offer. We both had full irish - 1 sausage, 2 rashers, half a black and white pudding, half a big mushroom, half a tomato and a fried egg. My partner doesn't eat eggs but was not offered extra of anything else instead. We were not offered any toast so had some brown bread that was on the buffet counter. There was a small selection of small scones & croissants. While hot food was cooked to order, there was nothing special about it. Overall, for a 4 star hotel we expected better. Emer C, at Cahernane House Hotel, responded to this review Dear Trish, Thank you for your review and overall I am delighted to read that you enjoyed the warm welcome from our reception team, appreciated the complimentary Prosecco offer, and found your room comfortable with lovely views of the gardens. It is also wonderful to hear the compliments for both our bar team and the quality of the food in the Cellar Bar. I was sorry to learn that breakfast did not fully meet your expectations. We do display a small selection of continental breakfast items in the dining room as space does not permit to us have a large buffet set-up. All the continental options, along with all hot breakfast dishes, are available to order from the breakfast menu. Our continental items include juiices, fresh fruit salad, charcuterie, yoghurt, farmhouse cheese, cerals, overnight oats and pastries and breads. And this is aside from 8 main dishes on the hot breakfast selection, which are all cooked to order. I regret if this was not clearly explained during your visit. I was disappointed to read that your partner was not offered an alternative when declining the egg as part of the Full Irish Breakfast, and that toast was not offered by your server. This is certainly not the level of attentiveness we aim to provide. I will share your comments to our breakfast team for review. Many thanks again for taking the time to write, With warm regards, Emer CorridanGeneral Manager

    Truly Lovely Country House Hotel

    rating30 May 2026

This the most wonderful hotel to stay at. Its a characterful country house hotel set in amazing rolling countryside. The rooms are full of charm with an ambience that suits the hotel. They are spotlessly clean. The staff are truly amazing and so helpful and considerate. We didn’t avail of the restaurant as we were going to a show at the INEC; which by the way its only a short walk to the INEC. The breakfast was very good.I did go the cellar bar and had a pre-show drink great selection of Irish spirits.I would strongly recommend a stay at this lovelyl hotel Emer Corridan, General Manager at Cahernane House Hotel, responded to this review Hi Michael,Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the character and charm of our country house setting. Magical stay at Cahernane House Hotel

    rating27 May 2026

Our stay at Cahernane House was absolutely magical. The staff went out of thir way for us and we appreciated the amazing customer service. From check in to check out, everyone was wonderfully kind and accomodating. We had a private history tour, rode bikes on the tree lined drive and around the property, and ate dinner the the Cellar bar. Breakfast was delicious as well. We stayed in a beautiful room in the Coach House, which had a terrace giving us a gorgeous view of the mountains. When we left, we were disappointed that we had not booked more nights--we would have loved to have stayed longer. I highly recommend staying at Cahernane House--it is in a perfect location in Killarney to explore the city, the Ring of Kerry and other local sites.
