  I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the room. + It was small, but so cozy. + I appreciated that it had a heavy duvet. + Everything was neat, tidy, and clean. + The bathroom was very small, but the sink was in the room, and there was a heated towel rack. Yes, there was noise at night from the band, but I managed to fall asleep even with the noise. I have no idea what time it got quiet. + Tatler Jack is right in the middle of town, so everything was super convenient. + The pub serves food, which was a plus.- The shower took a while to heat up, but then there was no shortage. - The drain was very slow; I was concerned that it may overflow, but it didn't. When I mentioned it to a staff member at breakfast, she told me that I had to take the cover off. I did that when I got back to the room, and there was standing water in the drain. + The second morning I took the drain cover off, and I was surprised when the water drained as it should.+ When I checked in, a staff member walked up with me and gave me instructions for getting in, as well as who to contact if there was an issue. + When I turned on the tv, the channels were showing but nothing was coming up on the tv. A staff member came up and had it fixed immediately. - There were no USB ports and the outlets next to the bed were not above the permanent table enough for the USB on my adapter to fit. I ended up plugging it up on the wall next to the tv. It wasn't a big deal; I kept my watch next to me if I needed to check the time during the night or in the morning. - There were no hooks at all in the bathroom; I had to hang my toiletry bag on the shower handle. - There was no counter space in the bathroom. Those are all minor things and did not affect how I felt about the room.- The door doesn't have an additional lock; the door automatically locks but there is not an additional deadbolt lock. + To get to the accommodations, there is an outside door with a lock on it; however, there is an unlocked door from the pub. My guess is that very few people know where that door leads. Would I stay here again? Without a doubt. Even with there not being an additional deadbolt, and there not being an additional security door to the accommodations, I felt completely safe. I had some very good nights' sleep while I was there. Even though it was very small, I found it to be cozy and extremely comfortable.

  Me and my friend booked a night for €150, then after we went out for dinner we got denied entry to the building by the pub bouncers. Was told “ you’re after too much drink you aren’t coming into the Building” and also by another security guard “ you will be sleeping on the street tonight you’re after too much drink” take in mind we had no drinks just went for dinner. Will not be staying here again when you can’t access the building because of pub bouncers. Do not recommend

  It’s what you expect out of sleeping above a pub, without being too much of a bother! We stayed two nights in a room with two twin beds—the room was on the smaller side but cozy and clean and had everything we needed. Ensuite bathroom was a good size as well. There’s no air conditioning, but we kept the window open for a bit of a breeze, and while it did get loud at night, folks left and the street got quiet at a reasonable hour. Both buffet-style and a la carte breakfast options were quick, delicious, and filling. Tatler Jack’s is so conveniently located and great for late-night strolls as well. Highly recommend this spot, especially for those who don’t mind a bit of noise and look forward to a quick pint just downstairs!

  Worse place of 12 accommodations on an Ireland, Scotland trip

  We knew that the place would be noisy since it had a bar underneath the accommodations. Music played until 2 ish but the noise did not stop there. Employees cleaning the place banged pots, kegs, and boxes as well as yelled down the hallway until 4 AM !! When we came down for breakfast there was glass in the hallway and on our table and seat. The second night when we woke to shower there was no hot water. No one at the place appeared to be concerned about it when we express our complaint . When we got home and complained to management they apologized and said they would refund one of the 2 nights. When I indicated that I was from the United States and asked if the could just refund our credit card-that was the last I heard from them--even after several attempts to make e mail contact.Plenty of places to stay in Killarney--Dont make it Tatler Jacks

  Clean, no fuss rooms with a hot breakfast at a very reasonable price. Shower drained too slowly for the water pressure. Friendly staff. It is above a bar on a lively street of bars in the town center. The proprietors are very upfront about the potential for noise. We had no problems with noise - room #2 on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The room was internal (not street facing) so we seldom heard noise from the street. We could hear the live music from 9pm to 11:30 pm but it was a singer and guitar (no drums). After the music stopped, no other abnormal noise from our perspectives and we slept soundly through the night.
