    Meh overpriced

    rating23 Sept 2024

Here’s the good: there was a kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave available. And another bathroom. Here’s the BAD: there is no breakfast. The owner disappeared after the first day. Towels were musty and small. The room was tiny, Especially bathroom very small. Shop around in this area before booking this B&B.

By far not worth the money!

    rating27 May 2024

On our trip through Ireland, this B&B was by far the worst. There was no breakfast, although the accommodation is advertised as ‘Bed and BREAKFAST’. Nevertheless, it is clearly forbidden to take food into the room. It is possible to use a tiny kitchen, but you have to clean it yourself. Finally we had to skip our breakfast because we didn‘t know all this. The surroundings are unkempt and nowhere near as idyllic as depicted on the website. The rooms were reasonably clean, but cold - temperature and “atmosphere” - , the beds very uncomfortable. And all this for 125 €... clearly not acceptable. We find questionable that the official website ‘B&B Ireland’ even suggests this accommodation.

    Horrible experience!! Avoid this place!!

    rating22 Oct 2023

Avoid this place!!!We had the worst experience at this bed and breakfast!! Stayed here 21st October 2023.only breakfast option was “scrambled eggs and toast”. The owners daughter verbally attacked my mother threatening her “to get back into her room or she will be told to pack your bags Lady”.The reason for this was she had 2 kids sleeping upstairs. The rooms were freezing cold we had to go look for the owner at 10.30pm To request the heating be put on and my grandfather couldn’t sleep in such Baltic conditions. The breakfast next morning my mum requested an omelette due to not wanting scrambled eggs and it came out completely burnt. I have videos and photos of this. It was such a struggle for her to provide me with 2 sausages and 2 bacon as I also don’t like scrambled eggs (which I couldn’t eat as there was a blonde hair in it.)also have video of this. My 8 year old daughter was ignored when asked could she have pancakes and syrup!! I managed to get bacon for her and she was given 1 tiny slice. Also pictures of this!! Only cornflakes for cereal choice. Not really a choice for kids. When I approached the owner before leaving the next morning I told her the issues I had and not even an apology. When I mentioned her daughter giving my mother bad manners she tried to deny it staying it wasn’t her daughter it was another guest!! The Daughter checked us in when we arrived so that excuse wasn’t possible as it was the same person!!plastic bag in the bin in room had what looked like “poo stains”. Also have this videod for the relevant department to deal with this horrible experience. Her website states “full Irish breakfast”. I don’t want anyone else to experience what we did!!also the mother(owner) was there when her daughter threatened my mother and never apologised or anything she let her speak to my mother like that. Not acceptable!!

B&B rate does not fit accommodations

    rating18 Aug 2023

We had booked our reservations three months in advance and also mentioned that we would be arriving after 8:00pm. Cathy warmly welcomed us, however the room she gave us was tiny! Just enough space for a double bed and about two feet on each side. There was no place to set our small bags, thank goodness we did not have large suitcases. The en-suite bathroom was smaller than a typical B&B bath. With our room door closed we could still hear conversation from the guests across the hall. 9:00am is the earliest breakfast is served! So if you typically dine earlier, do not stay here. At least we received a cold take-away breakfast of yoghurt, fruit, a juice box, and cheese sandwich. Considering other B&Bs we've stayed at, the 110 euro rate for the tiny room and cold breakfast is hardly worth the night.

    Average at best

    rating04 Dec 2022

Our room had a double bed and a single. We are both larger people so I slept in the single. The beds and pillows were thin and flat. The room was freezing and the shower stall only opened about 14 inches so we both had to squeeze in and out to shower. There was no water in the room except tap water to make tea or coffee. No eating in the rooms ( which was fine) Breakfast was meager and very small portions. The maze we had to go thru to find breakfast was comical as we were the only guests and we had the farthest room with the smallest bed. Our hostess Catherine was kind and sociable. I’m sure for other people this was a descent stay but for us it was a less than average stay. We have stayed in many BnB in Ireland. This was the worst for us.
