We stayed here for four nights on a golf trip. The rooms had been upgraded since our last visit and were very comfortable with an excellent en-suite featuring a walk in shower. Breakfast was very good with a good choice and a nice cooked breakfast done to order. There’s a good size bar that also does food and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly. There’s a good car park and a few charging points for those that need them. It’s only a 10 minute walk down into the lively town of Kilkenny.

The room was very outdated and need of repairs. The tiles in the bathroom need caulking, old hairdryer from the 1960s, the carpet was stained and appeared dirty, cobwebs on the windows when opened, not enough outlets (none by the beds), and I can go on. I would not even say this is a 3 star hotel. It was probably the worst I ever stayed at. This was a beautiful hotel! I really enjoyed the bathrobe and slippers, they added a comfortable experience. The room was so large and the bed comfy. Stayed for 2 nights midweek in April. First time staying in the hotel. Possibly one of the nicest hotel rooms we have stayed in. All amenities in the room and bathroom were excellent. We had room service one night and it was very prompt delivered. The bar is also very well appointed. All the staff we met we're very friendly and the service was extremely efficient. Ok, but ultimately won’t be returning

Neither good nor bad—but for a four-star hotel, that’s not enough to make me return. In reality, it feels closer to a three-star experience.There were several issues. The main one was the lack of any socket by the bed—not even a USB port—so charging a phone meant leaving it on the other side of the room, which was inconvenient. The room itself felt dated; I could have overlooked that if everything else had been up to standard, but it wasn’t.The bar was also disappointing. Wine was served from a tap, which isn’t what you’d expect at this level, and the glasses felt cheap.
