    Great location for public transport

    rating25 Mar 2026

I stayed here by myself this week. Hotels location is very central to bus aras,LUAS and Connolly station.the hotel is grand I knew it wouldn’t be a 5 star. The room that I was in clean, and had a bath which I’d requested. The bed wasn’t overly comfortable but I had everything I needed. Adequate heat and light. It was a little noisy from adjacent rooms and corridors but as I was on my own it was probably more noticeable. The reception, lobby and bar seemed nice and modern. I would stay again due the location. I was aware that there are undesirables in the vicinity outside but that’s not the hotels fault and is to be expected near any capital city bus depot.

    Anti Dublin

    rating24 Mar 2026

To whom it may concern, I write this as I sit in my room in the Beresford Hotel opposite Store Street Garda Station. Its 11.18pm. Although not in the past 6 or 7 yrs I have stayed here 3/4/5 times in the past and always found the hotel to be very nice, clean and functional. Today I write this as possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Im lost for words and I dont wish to be nasty but its just not right.. From the off set it says on its website it has irons and ironing boards, my room didn't, I asked at reception for one as my bag packing skills are minimal and I was told it would be delivered up to my room, that's grand, I'll go into the bar for a pint while I kill time, its about 2.25pm at this time, only to be told the bar does not open till 3pm... this is Dublin City.. ok, go into Ryan's Pub next door, have a pint in there and after 3pm I want to go check out the hotel bar, the public door on the outside is all locked up, it looks closed to the public so I had to enter from hotel reception. Get to the bar, im the only customer in the bar, so take my pint and decide to go to my room to iron my clothes for my night out.. get to my room to find an ironing board not fit for a leprechaun... it was like a Yorkshire terriers surf board.. ok, I've had bigger problems. But as im laughing at this ironing board I happen to open a drawer under the tv, only to find a used (i presume) face mask and dirty tissue papers, photos can and will be provided of this.. Ironing board in tow i go down to reception to express my dismay at the size of the impractical ironing board and to show the pics of used tissues and face mask.. I was offered a full size ironing board which I had to decline as time was against me and it meant the clothes I brought with me in my over night bag were null and void... oh lord, fast forward, I go to the theatre to see the play I came to Dublin to see and when it was over around 10.15pm approx walked back up to the Beresford hotel, it was just after 11pm when I got in only to find the bar closed and no option of getting a drink.Overall this experience in the Beresford has been a disaster, from no ironing facilities and very dirty room to no option for a drink, I think this hotel is anti Dublin and not good for tourists.. word fail me.. look elsewhere folks, dont let the location fool you.
