Location

Located in the heart of Dublin's Victorian Quarter, Ballsbridge, with its myriad of tree-lined avenues and red brick facades, this establishment is situated on the corner of Lansdowne and Shelbourne Roads and is perfect for all Irish rugby weekend breaks. Many of the capital's most popular restaurants and bars are but a stroll away. The centre of Dublin is a 10-minute ride away on public transport and Lansdowne Road stadium is just a 5-minute walk away. Dublin Airport is approximately 12 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 20 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English- and German-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. To ensure guests a comfortable and relaxing stay, the hotel provides various services and facilities, including a baggage storage service, a safe, a library, room service, a conference room, a smoke alarm and a smoking area. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park.

Rooms

Central heating ensures that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested.     Really 1960’s hotel… bad and out dated.     The hotel is located near the central railway station. This is convenient for a fast and direct connection to the airport (S1 or S8 train). Otherwise, the area around the station is predominantly populated by Turkish and Arab immigrants. However, the area is safe; I had no problems at any time of day or night. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the historic city center.The room was spacious and warm (in December it was –10°C outside!). The TV offers many German channels, plus TV5 and RAI. The bathroom is phenomenal—the shower had buttons instead of knobs! The staff are professional and empathetic.     Our stay was short, recognizing negative sides

    The negative side, the cleanliness was horrible of the room did not meet expectations. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned, and there were cobwebs visible on the ceilings and curtains (as shown in the photos). This was disappointing upon check-in.On the positive side, the reception staff, especially Safa, were very kind and helpful, doing their best to resolve the situation. The restaurant was excellent — offering a wide variety of dishes with great quality. In addition, the location was very convenient, being close to both the train and metro stations.With some improvements in housekeeping, this place could provide a much better overall experience.     Although the hotel is located near the city center, the area didn't feel safe at all. I was especially afraid in the evenings. There was a public parking lot next to the hotel entrance, and there were a lot of people fighting or drinking alcohol there at night. There's a strip club right next to the street. For these reasons, I felt very uneasy about entering the hotel in the evening or at night.
