Location

The conference hotel is just a 20-minute drive away from Dublin city centre and conveniently located right beside the M 1 and M 50 motorways. It is situated beside Dublin Airport overlooking the runways.

Facility

The hotel has 118 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning, central heating and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax on the balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available.     Spacious and luxurious. Room was neat and clean and well appointed. Hotel restaurant was excellent for breakfast buffet and evening meal. Front desk was professional and met every request.     The Carlton Hotel provide a very spacious guest bedroom that was well presented and most importantly, facing the airport, well sound proofed. The only issue linked to the sound proofing was that the room was a sealed unit, with only minimal ventilation and no air conditioning. It was provided with a Dyson fan to compensate for this, but this only provides air movement rather than ventilation. That said the room was comfortable and I did manage to get a good night's sleep.Our party ate in the ground floor restaurant the evening before our conference and enjoyed generous portions of well prepared and presented food, and a few pints of the black stuff.Breakfast and lunch on the day of the conference were also very good, as were the meeting room/venue facilities.The regular free shuttle bus between the hotel and airport, with a very friendly driver, makes this a convenient and stress free way to arrive and depart the hotel.     Kept unused late check out fee after I extended my stay

    So I was going to stay one night with a late check out the next day. Instead I extended my stay one more day. I was told that I could get my €30 Euro back that I paid for the late checkout. I was upgraded the first night and was told my upgrade would be continued so no change of room.When I went to get my fee back the manager said they were going to keep it as I’d saved money on an upgrade. Which is crazy. You can’t give someone an upgrade and then keep the money paid for an entirely unrelated unused service that they promised to return if I extended my stay and no longer needed it. I was told I’d have the upgrade AND get my fee back as I was extending my stay. Then the manager tried to get me to name the concierge that told me this, which is BS as he is the one in charge of making this final decision and throwing someone else under the bus for bad management is a coward’s way out.He said I should be happy as I saved €60 on the upgrade - but that’s with their pricing not bookings (which is 40% cheaper) and ignores the fact they kept my late checkout fee for a day I was actually paying to stay in the hotel. I saved nothing and barely broke even with them keeping my fee.I used to love this place as I travel often through Dublin with overnight layovers - but this is sh*t.     Attended a training meeting meeting in the Collinstown Suite at the Carlton Dublin Airport this morning. Nice hotel with plenty of parking and very well maintained facilities.
