    Doors are so loud!!

    rating23 May 2026

Had good experience on arrival, check in was quick and easy and was greeted by extremely friendly staffThe room was lovely, booked quite late as a business trip and only room available was a family room so had three beds to choose from! The room could have been cleaner though, lots of cobwebs on the coving and the net curtains looked like they been sprayed with something almost like a can of pop or something?!The bathroom was spacious but the shower could have been a bit more powerful. Found it a little strange that I had hand soap and shampoo in the shower and no shower gel? Messaged the customer services to have some shower gel put into the room for when I got back that night only to be met with another bottle of shampoo and no shower gel … strange!!The biggest and main reason for the low score are the doors! They are so heavy and slam so loudly!!! I was very considerate and held the door to shut it quietly if only nearly everybody else was the same. The slams shook the room almost! They definitely need to add something to the doors to stop this - it’s no fun being woken at 6am with lots of slams!!Ate in the hotel in both nights, food was lovely but felt rushed in both the bar and the breakfast area by staff dying to take plates away the second you put knife and fork down, even if you were just taking a pause! That was a little rude I felt.

The staff was mixed with manners and welcoming. Most staff seemed overworked and unappreciated. There was a verbal dispute this am with 2 workers. One was to seat us for breakfast as the other was a hostile female trying to dominate other worker. It was awkward watching this until the bickering stopped. However this set the tone for the remainder of our day. We went later on to the bar to have a drink and possibly lunch...the service was horrible. Had to go up for our drinks and give reminders of food and refills. Probably one of the worst experiences we have ever had at a hotel. We stayed away from the hotel each day to not let the toxicity of the staff hinder our trip.

Eoin was very helpful and enthusiastic, the room was stunning with a beautiful view. All staff was very friendly and polite. I had a great experience. I was offered which floor I would like to stay on when I was checking in by Eoin which hasn’t happened to me before in any hotel I thought that was very nice .
