  It is a good option for travelling on a budget. Rooms are clean and quite comfortable, the shared area is nice (I didn't spend much time there but it looked enjoyable) it is not that far from the city centre. Just make sure you know how to close and lock the door before you leave, for maximum safety, and it is also a good idea to bring your own padlock, to keep your stuff safe. Breakfast was also good. Overall, good experience that allows to have a nice trip, while still respecting a budget.   Bachelor Party in Dublin

  We came as 15 boys for a bachelor party and we had a great time at generator hostel. As we are all around 40 years old we had some doubt to sleep in a hostel dedicated to younger people but our stage was perfect. 3x private rooms with bathroom very clean. We enjoy having a bar and snooker in the same place. The location in Dublin is perfect with temple bar at only 15min of walk !   Beds were ok, that’s all.   This was an awesome experience at this hostel. I've stayed at many others. It had all the amenities. The location was perfect for what I wanted. The staff that I met were helpful and kind.   Grotty but serves a purpose

  We had a private quad room for a long weekend as a group of friends. The hostel itself is modern, in a slightly out of town location but within easy walking distance of temple bar and all of the tourist areas. It was quite basic, with a lot of broken showers and locks on doors in the toilet areas which gave the impression that it was for younger groups and individuals. Not a great place to try and sleep either as the noise goes on all night from the bar, with rooms facing into an inner courtyard where the party carries on until 3-4am.Overall - you get what you pay for but I have stayed in much nicer and better maintained hostels. There is no excuse for unhygienic facilities in a hostel.
