    PROBABLY THE WORST

    rating13 Dec 2024

Probably the worst for everything. Need I say more. Alarms in room in middle of night ,someone smoking. Dirty, smells like mold, small, dungeon,no windows felt like I was in a closet. And the neighborhood is sketchy. Key has to be handed in each time you leave.

I booked a night with booking.com, for the 30th oct 24 ,unfortunately due to a circumstance I couldn't make that day so I got onto booking.com and they arranged with the hazelbrook to change the date ,with no extra cost that was agreed by both ,so on arrival to be told no room was available, I had to make a rebooking which I had to pay again the room was absolutely disgusting, so i asked to be moved to a clean room one member of staff was so rude I couldn't wait for morning to go to get out of it never again I uploaded the room I was given

We didn’t feel safe, it’s a good job we locked our room door.

    rating27 Sept 2024

It was as expected looks and cleanliness wise. Good location, however wouldn’t stay again as we didn’t feel safe. We were woken up at 3:45 to someone repeatedly and violently pushing our door handle, trying to get into our room. They tried for long enough that we both woke up. There is also a sensor outside of the rooms that turns the hallway light on, this sensor went off consistently after this happened, which meant we were scared and paranoid the rest of the night- not sleeping. We wanted to ring Reception but were worried we wouldn’t be taken seriously. The next morning we told reception and they seemed very unbothered and blamed it on being someone possibly drunk and confused. It felt very not like that and felt very serious to us.

    Hotel from hell

    rating10 Jun 2024

Stepping into this abysmal excuse for a hotel felt like plunging into a nightmare. As three young girls, we were immediately confronted by randy old men lurking outside, their predatory stares making us feel vulnerable and unsafe from the moment we arrived. The so-called luggage room was nothing but a rotten cupboard, completely unsupervised by staff, offering no security whatsoever for our belongings. We weren't even allowed to take the room key with us, leaving us feeling even more exposed. The room itself was a filthy, revolting disaster. Rat-sized holes gaped in the bathroom walls, a radiator leaked continuously, and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut, depriving us of any semblance of privacy. The sheets were stained and covered with pubic hairs, a nauseating sight that left us feeling utterly disgusted. Worse still, the ground floor window wouldn’t lock, leaving us vulnerable to anyone passing by on the road. One radiator was caked with decades of dust and accumulated trash, including a repulsive plastic spork. When we tried to address these appalling conditions, an aggressive staff member had the audacity to lash out at us, denying any fault and telling us to cancel our stay and take to the streets instead of offering any solution. This outrageous response left us feeling even more distressed and unsafe. After much reluctance and aggressive pushback from the rude staff member, we were finally offered another room. However, this so-called "solution" was an insult. The door to the new room looked like it had been punched in and pried open with a crowbar, adding to our sense of danger and unease. The battered door was a stark reminder of the hotel's neglect and disregard for guest safety. This shoddy replacement only intensified our distress and anger, making it clear that this establishment had no respect for our well-being or comfort. One of my friends suffers from OCD, and while I don’t have the condition, even I found the state of the hotel repulsive beyond belief. The filth and disrepair were unbearable for anyone, but for her, it was a living nightmare. If it was this horrifying for me, I can't even begin to fathom the torment she must have felt in such a squalid environment. Her distress was palpable, and the hotel's utter lack of cleanliness and care only exacerbated her condition, making our stay a traumatic experience. The only saving grace was a young receptionist who, clearly embarrassed by her colleague’s outburst, was kind and understanding, validating our fears and acknowledging our complaints. Her empathy was the sole light in this horrifying, infuriating ordeal. Ultimately, we had no choice but to book another hotel, costing us nearly £800. This unplanned expense was a huge blow, both financially and emotionally, as we struggled to find a safe and clean place to stay. This horrendous experience not only drained our wallets but also left us feeling deeply shaken and betrayed by the sheer negligence and hostility of the establishment.

    Great Stay!

    rating24 May 2024

I booked to stay at the Hazelbrook House Hotel at fairly short notice and was given a pretty good deal. I managed to find it quite easily as I was arriving into Dublin Connolly station and it is just a short walk from the station which I was very pleased to discover.I checked in really easily and I discovered that my room was looking out onto the smoking shelter. I was initially a bit concerned that I would be disturbed by people using this but as it turned out this was not the case.Once I dropped off my luggage I set out to explore the city and discovered that it was only a short walk to the riverside in one direction and O'Connell Street in another direction so it really was in a perfect location.I had a good night's sleep although some of my neighbours were a nit noisy but I cannot hold this against the hotel. When it came to depart I was allowed to leave some of my luggage in the luggage room whilst I continued to explore the city and nearby area. The staff I met were all really friendly and helpful. My room was clean and tidy and had all the things I needed. My bathroom was clean and the shower was great. Really refreshing!Highly recommended for a reasonably priced, well located hotel.
