Nice Hilton Hotel

This Hilton Hotel is about 5/6km from Dublin Airport and similar distance from Malahide a lovely costal town in Co Dublin with a lovely beach and the fabulous Malahide Castle. It’s is convenient to city and Howth another beautiful costal town within the greater Dublin area. This is a modern hotel and maintained to a high standard.

This hotel is a short drive from the airport with a shuttle bus service available. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant is of a high quality. The wifi was a little shaky but was being repaired when we were there.

While on holiday in Ireland my mother fell and broke her back and ankle. She had a boot, walker and relied on a wheelchair for anything more than a few steps away. As such, I booked a stay at the Hilton Dublin Airport before flying out. I had confidence in the Hilton brand but was very disappointed. When we arrived at the hotel on April 8, 2026, the entrance was very far from the drop off point - maybe not for able bodied folks - but for someone that was injured and with accessibility needs - it was far. I went into the hotel and asked for a wheelchair and was told that they did not have one and the lady at the front desk was not sure if they had one. I asked the lady to look into this - maybe even ask someone else - but in the meantime, I asked whether there was a closer access point for my mom. There was not. Our driver was very kind and helped bring mom into the hotel. At this time, the lady at the reception came and told us to use the side door (which was further) instead of the revolving door - this was inconvenient, but she helped. So that was nice. Upon check-in we were given a room very far from the elevator. At this time, I asked to speak with the manager and ask whether there was a wheelchair or if the hotel could arrange for one. The man standing at the desk identified himself as Nikhil Mehta and he sternly said he was the manager and that this Hilton does not have a wheelchair. Mr. Mehta was very matter of fact, there was no apology or even sympathy expressed. He did not even feign an interest in helping resolve this problem. Later that evening, realizing how inaccessible this hotel was and the challenges it poses for anyone with limited mobility, I asked the front desk staff whether the shuttle driver had any wheelchairs or alternative accommodations as we were scheduled to use the shuttle to go to the airport in the morning. To which I was told that this Hilton hotel had no accommodations and mom would have to find a way to get to the pickup point in the parking lot which was a significant walk from the hotel entrance. During our trip we stayed at many hotels - even small boutique hotels - all of which were equipped with wheelchairs. But not the multi-national Hilton Hotels brand. Very, very, disappointing. Moving forward I will be avoiding the Hilton Brand.

I recently stayed here ahead of a trip the following day. When I searched for hotels around Dublin airport I chose the Hilton as I wanted a good experience for the family ahead of the trip. Choosing The Hilton on reputation and expectation on quality. It turned out not to be. We stayed in a King Suite. The room was dated and freezing. The AC/Heating didn’t work. My family had to wrap up going to bed. The bathroom was sub standard for a basic hotel never mind a king suite at The Hilton! The tap/faucet on the bath was running constantly. My family were reluctant to use the shower as it felt dirty to stand in. The kids beds were lumpy sofa beds with springs prominent when they were lying in them. Leak stains on the ceilings. No smart TVs, which in this day and age given the reputation of The Hilton one would expect. The service in the bar was slow and gave an experience of under qualified across the lounge and bar staff. The only positives was the guy on reception that checked us in and the free car parking. Other than that I don’t have one thing good to say about the experience.
