Stay the hell away, we booked for a weekend and got thrown out over a dispute about the cost of, tried to reason but I was set upon by the duty manager and left with a broken nose and a black eye, make sure your booking is correct otherwise take some boxing gloves Nina Gillett, Owner at Hotel St. George, responded to this review Booked a Thursday and Friday night. Refused to give a credit card for guarantee on arrival and started a fight with another guest who tried to help our reception attendant when he insisted on some security. Disgruntled guest review. Please disregard.

    Cute hotel. Needs some TLC.

I will first start off with all the positives. Great location. The staff were amazing. Very polite and accommodating. The hotel was very clean. Rooms, hallways, lounge. The housekeeping was wonderful. The beds were made, room was tidy and the bath towels are big, which is rare. Now for the improvements. It needs upgrading. An elevator is available for some floors. Sixth floor, nope and trust me, it was extremely difficult to navigate the narrow stairs with suitcases. Our first room had low ceilings and a window that was no bigger than your car windshield. We asked to move. They accommodated us to a sixth floor room. The room was big, high ceilings, but freezing cold. Ireland was experiencing a cold snap for the first couple of days while we were there. The room was great for its size, but the radiator didn't work and the tiny space heater did nothing. I won't even talk about the fluctuating water temperature when showering. We asked to move, again. They moved us to the 3rd floor. We were told this room was renovated. It had a double bed and a single. I understand why they do this configuration, for a family, but they would have been better off with a king bed. The double bed was against the wall and you had very little room to move between beds. You couldn't lay your luggage out and the room layout was not ideal at all. The bathroom was beyond small. The sink was really a regular sink cut in half with a glass shelving unit above it. The mattresses were awful. They were lumpy and had large divots. We had a horrible sleep. The room was located above the front desk and our window was facing the front steps. Unfortunately, anyone who smoked cigarettes or Maryjane, the smell went directly into our room. We knew this was a boutique hotel. This is also our second time in Ireland and we stayed at a hotel just down the street from this one. We travelled all over the country last time and opted to stay in Dublin for the entire visit. We loved the last hotel we stayed in, but thought we would give this one a try. We have had other boutique hotel experiences, hence why I can make hotel comparisons. Check around first. This is good for a one night stay.

    Fantastic value for money.

The hotel was nice and presentable with Helen working at reception who was lovely and super helpful. The noise level was not a problem despite being near the city centre. We stayed from Wednesday to Friday and did not have a shortage of activities to do as everything is walking distance. Value for the room is absolutely incredible because of how clean it was, absolute steal. Would definitely recommend this hotel and if I ever plan a trip to Dublin again, I will be going here.
