Smithfield Plaza is tucked in from the Quays just behind the Four Courts and is just a 10-minute walk from Dublin City centre. Shopping, entertainment, sightseeing, eateries and business districts are all within an easy stroll of the hotel. Henry Street, a 10-minute walk away, is good for shopping. St. Stephens Green Park is a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and Dollymount beach can be reached in 30 min on public transport. Dublin Zoo, the Guinness Store House and the Natural History Museum are all a 10- to 20-minute walk from the hotel. There is also a direct access route to and from Dublin Airport and Dublin Port.

Facility

7 junior suites and 85 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     The worst hotel I have stayed at. Room was freezing and when I rang them to turn the heat on they said heat turns off in the whole hotel in the evening 😒. Room was tiny for an executive room. They dont do room service for breakfast, staff is rude. Way overpriced. Its a real shame as the location is ideal. Someone tried to open out door at 3am. .. just an awful experience overall.

    We took a girls trip to Dublin and had the best time at the Maldron Smithfield! This is the friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered at a hotel. They welcomed us straightaway. We enjoyed our room and the location. We were a few minutes walk to the bridge to cross the River Liffey. From there you can walk almost anywhere in Dublin! Posting a picture of our closest bridge but there are lots of bridges & it’s fun to take different routes. If you walk down the plaza to where the trams run, you are right on the LUAS line. Transportation was super convenient this way. We took the LUAS downtown and to Connolly Station to take train trips. There’s a “fresh” (brand name) grocery store next door to the hotel. We also used Tesco express which is down the plaza next to the LUAS tracks. Clean and reliable food choices here to grab a meal deal. We also used the Mark & Spencer food hall for groceries and thought that was great. Our first time to Dublin but it won’t be our last! What a great stay at Maldron, would 10/10 stay here again.

    This hotel was conveniently near the Smithfield team stop so it was only a short tram ride into the city centre or 10 minutes walk away The service was sketchy. The staff were friendly but twice we found our room haven't been refreshed and wet had to request it at reception. The room was clean and of a decent size and the bed was very comfy.At times, the room was quite noisy though with not much sound proofing.
