    Sam is the best

    rating23 May 2026

We had afternoon tea in the Royal Marine in Dub Laoghaire and SAM was absolutely brilliant! The tea and cakes were stunning and so was Sam! Sam gave a lovely welcome to a friend of ours in Ireland for the first time! Such a lovely experience!

    Disappointing

    rating22 May 2026

I booked new years eve as a gift to my parents and although they liked the hotel, the shower didn't work. My dad reported to reception but nothing was done. They had previously stayed there 2 years prior and the heating wasnt working. My dad,who is a plumber, ended up fixing this himself without any compensation or offer of same, not even an apology. Needless to say they won't be going back. I emailed them myself over this after their December visit but I never even got a reply. Very disappointing as it is,like all hotels in Ireland now, extremely expensive for a night's stay now. Needless to say they won't be returning

    Comfortable and Tasteful

    rating19 May 2026

We stay in The Royal Marine regularly and have done so for years. We are familiar with many of the staff who give us a terrific welcome every time we visit. We know many of them personally at this stage. Danke, one of the managers, is a courteous and extremely efficient person. A special mention to Myat who provides us with friendly, speedy and humorous service every time! Service throughout the Hotel is efficient and this includes the staff who take care of the rooms (any small fault that we ever experienced was speedily dealt with). The food is always good and tastefully presented. We are especially fond of the lounge area but all parts of the hotel are attractive. The decor is tasteful, a mix of classic and modern.Being Loyalty members my partner and myself can avail of various offers and gain an automatic room update which we enjoy of course, usually obtaining a beautiful view of Dun Laoghaire harbour. One small complaint would be that a few of the rooms would benefit from a refresh. We are usually placed into the same range of rooms and some of the rooms are a little bit tired. However, in general, we are extremely happy with our stays and look forward to many more. Colin Brown, General Manager at Royal Marine Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for your continued loyalty and for such a thoughtful and detailed review. It truly means a great deal to us that you have been staying with us for years and have built such a strong connection with the team. We are delighted to hear that you consistently receive a warm welcome and that the service across the hotel meets your expectations. Danka and Myat will be especially pleased to receive your kind recognition. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoy the food, décor, and especially the lounge area, as well as the harbour views that come with your stays as valued loyalty members. We really appreciate your honest feedback regarding some of the rooms feeling a little tired. Please feel free to talk with us directly when you are next here as I would love to gather your thoughts. We very much look forward to welcoming you back for many more enjoyable stays in the future.Kind regards,Colin BrownGeneral Managercbrown@royalmarine.ie
