  Overpriced, high up a steep hill, and VERY rude receptionist

  We booked a trip to Amalfi to choose the perfect location for a proposal to my pregnant partner, we chose Praiano as our location to avoid the tourist hotspots, but to be close enough to get to them fairly easily, we were VERY happy with this small town as a place to stay and only 15 minutes walk to the beach, but unfortunately our choice of hotel was a BIG mistake due to several issues, specifically a very rude lady called Mariana at reception.Before staying anywhere, we'll always check the reviews, 'Hotel Holiday' had good reviews on the whole, but over recent years we noticed a pattern relating to rudeness from a specific member of staff. The name of the hotel sounded a little tacky and so I was concerned that we were choosing a 'budget' option, but it was still very expensive compared to even neighbouring hotels.Upon checking in, we were met by a young American lady whom was very friendly, professional and customer-service-focused, a young chap called Omar was also present and upon being shown to our room, he set to work with removing the stream of ants flowing into the room from a plug socket.The room was a good size, with it's own balcony and a sea view. The ensuite bathroom was also decent although a little small. It had a bath but it was broken and only the shower worked which was very disappointing seen as the room was advertised as having a 'whirlpool bath'.The room included two bottles of water but only on the first day, and the tap water isn't recommended to drink, considering the price that you pay for these rooms, you would have expected bottles of water to be provided each day of the stay.During our first night and every subsequent night, we were woken several times by other guests returning to their rooms, the downstairs room corridor has no carpets and is an echo-chamber, the room doors have no soundproofing, the door locks sound like some archaic jail when they lock/unlock and guests don't appear to care about being quiet. We could also hear banging through the walls, and despite banging back and even reporting the noise to reception, there was no improvement.The mini-bar in the room was very expensive, more expensive than the restaurants in Amalfi, but a supermarket just up the road is 1/3rd the price, so we chose to stock up there instead.When we mentioned to Mariana at reception our disappointment with the constant noise from other bedrooms, the high price of the hotel and mini-bar, ants in the room, broken bath, the response was very rude and we were accused of being 'cheap'. We explained that we have two children at home, a baby on the way and that this holiday was a 'once in a lifetime' for us, she responded that she "was going to do something special for us, but now she's changed her mind".I will add that Lindsay, Antonio and Laura were very kind, friendly and professional, but the attitude, unprofessionalism and unfriendly behaviour from Mariana has to improve.Overall, our visit to Amalfi was pleasant and my proposal to my beautiful fiancee was well received, therefore we have fond memories of the trip, but if we return we'll stay at the sister hotel just a short walk up the hill, as the staff there were genuinely lovely.

  Outstanding service and place - try it!

  Hotel Holiday, Praiano, was a perfect choice for us:Location was excellent, there was a car park, the rooms were great with a fantastic view, but best of all was the service. Mariana and Omar in the reception were always very helpful and informative no matter time of the day. You did not meet some tired and unengaged receptionist, but real humans with personality and engagement -joking when appropriate and serious when needed.Laura and Antonio in the restaurant served the most exquisite breakfast and like a real barista Antonio made the best cappuccino. They were very helpful, informative and talkative when invited yet private and professional, when you needed to just sit alone for a moment.The friendly and most hospital way, we were met by everyone at Hotel Holiday, really made us want to go back another time - the sooner the better.Now I almost forgot the cleaning service... That would be a real shame and not right: They were discrete but swift and the room was always tidied up in a cosy and welcoming way. It was always a good experience to walk into the room, - they even folded our t-shirts, that we had used during nighttime, and placed them nicely and symmetrical on the beds.Hotel Holiday gets my best recommendations in every way.   Extremely cosy hotel, with experienced, warm & very helpful staff.

  What a wonderful experience we shared at Hotel Holiday. Marianna and Omar took so good care of us and were ready to respond to all our questions and needs with a smile and of course in depth knowledge of the area and experiences for toursits. The breakfast was delicious, with all we could wish for, plus a little more. Antionios great cafe latte, and Laura, who was also so sweet to help and advise us on a day where one of our pre bookings was cancelled - so we ended up having nearly the best day of our entire holiday. Thank-you all - we will return!!!   Amaizing stay at Amalfi coast

  We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Holiday in Praiano.We visited together with my elderly parents, and everything was just perfect.Our room had an amazing view of the sea, the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious — especially the coffee, which was absolutely fantastic.Thank you for a beautiful stay and warm hospitality.We truly enjoyed every moment and hope to return soon!   Holiday Hotel Praiano

  My wife and I had three wonderful nights at this hotel. The accommodations were great but more importantly the staff were very helpful and kind. Omar, the young man who works the front desk, made this hotel top notch. He continuously went the extra mile. He plugged us into local attractions, hikes, made reservations, and generally seemed to care. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants great service without the hustle of the larger Amalfi cities.
