Bergamo is definitely a place to visit . Is so many great places to visit . Great location , nice size rooms . Good breakfast and fantastic roof top restaurant. ( good service at the restaurant) Little noise , the communication before we arrive was great but the team isn’t friendly in the lobby when u check in or ask questions. . Lots of employees but looks like they don’t like their job. The most friendly staff is the doorman and the guy in charge of the parking . Anyway we enjoy Bergamo

This hotel is a few minutes walk from the Funicolare that runs up to the Città Alta and the stops for the No 1 bus, which runs between the Airport and the Città Alta, are virtually outside the front door. Beautifully appointed, spacious room, friendly staff and a great breakfast (plus the ultra convenient location) made for a wonderful 4 day stay in this varied and extraordinary city. Can't recommend the Excelsior San Marco and Bergamo highly enough.

There was a good choice of food at breakfast. If one did not wish to drink the machine coffee, the staff would make a coffee at the bar. Internet access was easy. The room was air-conditioned. When I did have a problem with the room, I was moved immediately, without question. There is a room safe. The staff were very helpful. It was a short walk from the pedestrianised town centre which gave an entirely different vibe. It was also a short walk to the funicular for the upper town.I should have read the map a little closer - it was a bit further to walk from the train station on a hot day than I had appreciated. It was a hotel that catered for large groups (but was set up to do so). A bottle of water in the room would have been nice on a hot day. Regarding the distance from the train station, it is exactly 1 kilometer straight down the main avenue toward the old town—about a 15-minute walk that can feel longer on a hot summer day, although taxis and buses are readily available from the station. As for our facilities, we feature 155 rooms, a breakfast area with 100 indoor seats plus a terrace, a panoramic top-floor restaurant, and a congress center with meeting rooms, along with outdoor and garage parking. Great location for visiting the sites and very easy access from the airport or railway stationVery professional staff and an enjoyable breakfast experienceIn two visits we experienced different room standards....the refurbished room that we had was "very small" but adequate with a terrible view of the back of other buildingsThe older room had a fantastic view of Citta Alta with a small balcony and was much bigger though as elderly travellers climbing into a large bath to use the shower wasn't ideal or safeWi-fi was free and good throughout the hotel and our only issue was being unable to "stream" or use a fire stick on the tv...something we do regularly as long term travellersWe would definitely use the hotel again Beniamino Tomasoni, Direttore generale at HOTEL EXCELSIOR SAN MARCO s.r.l., responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your detailed review and for returning to stay with us.
