  I stayed at the FlyOn Hotel because of its proximity to Bologna Airport, but unfortunately the location is more convenient on paper than it is in reality.The hotel is in a fairly unappealing area and, despite appearing very close to the airport, it isn’t particularly easy to get to. The airport shuttle is useful, but it stops just before midnight, so if you arrive later than that, getting to the hotel is a bit of a hike.The reception experience was mixed. Some staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly when I arrived late at night, while I also encountered some reception staff who were quite rude. The housekeeping and breakfast staff, on the other hand, were lovely and friendly.The hotel itself is quite dated and feels in need of some updating. The room was very basic and the bed was extremely uncomfortable, which made for a less than restful stay.Breakfast was also very simple and didn’t offer much choice. I also made an error with my booking, accidentally selecting the wrong day. When I arrived at around 1am, I realised my mistake. The reception staff helped me make a new booking for that night, which I appreciated, and I paid for and stayed in the new room.What I found particularly disappointing was the hotel’s response afterwards. I completely accept responsibility for making the booking-date mistake and understand that the original rate was non-refundable. However, given that I had actually arrived at the hotel, stayed there and paid for another room that night, I felt the hotel’s refusal to offer any goodwill or flexibility was unnecessarily unreasonable. I was essentially paying twice for accommodation when I had only needed one room.Overall, I found the hotel disappointing for the price. There were some genuinely lovely and helpful staff members, particularly in housekeeping and at breakfast, but the dated hotel, uncomfortable bed, basic breakfast, inconsistent reception service, awkward location and lack of goodwill over the booking issue meant it wasn’t an experience I’d be keen to repeat.

  DIRTY & RUDE

  So early check in is 50 Euro. The sink has zip ties holding it together, carpets are dirty, we found hair in our bathroom. Instead of compensation they offered to clean it. But that doesn’t help the inconvenience of me not being able to sleep until I shower. They offered Netflix but you can’t even login since the TV is not connected. I mentioned the dirty bathroom & how we just got back from being out all morning. She said that she can’t tell we didn’t dirty the bathroom. I told her to check the lobby cameras and that will prove my point. Never in my life have I been treated this poorly by a hotel. They have no compassion for issues, I have a 6am flight and I just wanted to shower and sleep. I would not recommend this hotel due to slow service (restaurants), bad reception workers, lack of customer service, dated floors, dirty bathroom, uncomfortable pillows (you get 1 hard pillow). If you want a sink that’s held together by zip ties, come to FlyOn!!Only nice thing is it’s close to the airport but I rather pay the extra 10 euro. Also I’m traveling with my mom we booked 2 beds they gave us a king.

  Night of Hell

  Never experienced such a uncomfortable night. The bed should have been obsoleted years ago.One flat stained pillow. We were in pain for days following this night of hell.How you can charge the room rate is a rip off . On top of this the receptionist needs a course in customer service.

  Not very good service from the front desk personnel

  I have been to this hotel several times in the past, finding it nice and handy near the airport when I need to catch an early flight. This time unfortunately I have not been satisfied at all. I mean, the room was nice but it was on the lower floor and almost to the edge of the long corridor. The hotel provides a free WiFi connection that is useful and needed now that everything in on Internet. The problem this time was the very weak and almost absent connection in the room. When I exited it and walked down the corridor towards the lifts the signal was getting stronger and stronger. Having to check in on line and confirm the next coming bookings and expecting replies, I needed a good connection, so I went to the reception asking to move to another room - I had just arrived so I had not touched anything in the room. The personnel at the desk basically refused to provide any help, stating that all the rooms were already assigned - it was 5pm in the afternoon - so that I ended to do all my work on internet seated in the corridor out side the rooms. Not a great service in my opinion, so I doubt I can be there again in future.

  Great Location for a 0600 AM Flight

  FlyOn Hotel is a practical choice since we need a stay near Bologna Airport for a 0600 AM flight. The rooms are generally spacious enough for a comfortable overnight stop. The veranda in the room and the provision of slippers were a plus. However, there were only two thin pillows on the bed. The foods were great! Overall, it’s best suited for a short airport stay.
