Location

This hotel is located in a strategic location at the entrance of the city, near to the Borgo Panigale exit of the Autosole motorway (A1) and just 500 m from Centroborgo, the largest trading centre of Bologna. The centre of Bologna, where guests will find restaurants, shops, bars and nightlife, is around 9 km away. The nearest bus station is just 500 m from the airport hotel. Guglielmo Marconi Airport is just a few minutes away and a few kilometres of ring road separate it from the trade fair.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in a 5-storey building with 2 lifts and 143 non-smoking rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine are available. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel offers a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing.     The first receptionist was arrogant and unhelpful, the floor in the room was sticky and dirty(spilled coffee from previous guests, fingernails on the bathroom floor, mold in the showers). There is nothing close by so one must eat at the restaurant, service was good but the food was horrible, in some cases very misleading about the type of food.     Very Enjoyable First Stay!

    Our travel advisor recommended the hotel Bologna airport for our stay just prior to our departure from Italy. These staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. We especially enjoyed the bar for coffee and breakfast, and had a great dinner in the hotel restaurant. Our server, Joanne, was great, and made us feel welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed talking to her. We would gladly stay here again!     ⚠️ Our Room Was Given to Another Guest – Serious Safety Concern

    We chose this hotel based on its high ratings, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived.At check-in, the receptionist was busy on her phone and barely acknowledged us. She simply took our passports, completed the check-in process, handed us the room key, and did not say a single word.When we got to our room, the key card did not work. My husband had to return to reception, where he was told it should be working. After a second attempt, the door still would not unlock. My husband went back again, and once more we were told the issue had been fixed. It still did not work. Fortunately, a housekeeping staff member happened to see us struggling, checked the card, and helped us gain access to the room.After a long day of travel, we finally settled in to rest. A few hours later, we were shocked when someone suddenly opened our room door. The people immediately closed it after realizing someone was inside. I rushed to the door and asked what had happened. They explained that the room had been assigned to them and apologized. I assured them it was not their fault.I immediately called reception and was told that our room was showing as unoccupied in their system, which is why it had been assigned to another family. This is a serious and unacceptable mistake. A staff member then called and asked me to come to reception with our passports, which I refused because we had already presented them during check-in. Shortly afterward, a staff member came to our room asking to take our passports. We refused again, so he simply looked at them and left.Later that evening, before going out, we stopped by reception and specifically asked whether everything had been corrected. We were assured that it had. However, when we returned to the hotel, our key card once again did not work, forcing us to make yet another trip to reception.I am writing this review to make other travelers aware of our experience. It was genuinely unsettling and frightening to have strangers unexpectedly open our room door because of the hotel's administrative errors. Beyond the inconvenience, this raised serious concerns about guest safety and security.What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of accountability. No manager contacted us, no one offered a sincere apology, and no effort was made to acknowledge the seriousness of the mistake. The front office appeared disorganized and poorly managed throughout our stay.We are longtime travelers and have stayed in countless hotels around the world, but we have never experienced such a series of failures in basic hotel operations. This was by far one of the most unprofessional hotel experiences we have encountered, and we cannot recommend this property to others. It has not been a matter of carelessness but she was doing her job at her best trying to do two operations at the same time in order to satisfy the hotel guests’ needs. After the check-in, you reached the right floor but tried to have access to the wrong room, reason why the key didn’t work. At the reception, they made again the same key because that was the room number you were checked-in. This is what happened every time you had to make a trip to the reception, all the information in the system were correct.The issue occurred when the housekeeper gave you access and didn’t make sure what was the right room assigned and we acknowledge that this has been a mistake from our staff. In our system the room was unoccupied precisely because you were in the wrong room that was supposed to be unoccupied. The family who entered in the room where you were settled, they were checked-in correctly.The mistake was yours when you occupied a room which you were not assigned to. Oust staff member asked again your passports doing simply his job, trying to solve the dilemma. We are sorry to read your review, but we must clarify that this situation is not the result of a lack of professionalism on our side.     The staff exhibited a genuine concern to deliver a great visitor experience. Our package included a breakfast but we were unable to take advantage of it because of a very early flight. They cheerfully exchanged the breakfast for a airport shuttle.     We stayed at Hotel Bologna Airport at the end of a busy two-week vacation, and it was the perfect place to decompress before flying home the next morning. The shuttle to the airport was conveniently arranged at check-in, and the service throughout our stay was first-rate.
