    The hotel is in a good location, and the staff are lovely. The room is clean & comfortable. My main issue with the hotel was the fact that when I wanted to access the roof terrace, I couldn’t as there was a private party booking. I booked the hotel due to the availability of the roof terrace, as I wanted the outdoor space to relax. I am annoyed the hotel does not say anywhere that at the time of booking, the roof terrace can be unavailable to private parties ( not even hotel residents) . That particular party went on all night, and the music disrupted sleep. The prior night, there was a private birthday party booking, which took over half the terrace. When I mentioned it to the receptionist when we checked out, she could not understand the issue, although another resident completely agreed, and was too annoyed that the terrace was not available in the evening.

    The Perfect Bologna Hotel

    Absolutely loved our stay at this fantastic little hotel. We were upgraded to a Gold Room with a balcony just because one was available, which had a beautiful view over the rooftops of Bologna. The bed was comfy, the breakfast was tasty and of good quality with lots of options, and the location was excellent, just minutes walk from the city centre and tons of restaurants and shops. And an extra thank you to Giulia who made us feel so welcome. She was kind, helpful, and even offered and brought up some wine and snacks for us to enjoy on our balcony on our first night when the rooftop terrace was closed. Really exceptional service, and a big reason we’ll return on our next visit to Bologna!

    A great hotel, in a perfect location

    The Astoria is perfectly situated, six minuteds away from Bologna Centrale railway station & 0.8 miles from Neptune Square. The staff were more than helpful in giving us directions to various places, and marked our destinations on the map. The room was clean with fresh towels every day & the beds were made every morning. Breakfast was Continental, and it was the first hotel I've been to with a chocolate fountain! The hotel has car parking - perfect as we hired a car for a few days. Even though our room faced a courtyard, the noise level was minimal. To sum up, a great, value for money hotel in an easy find to location. Hopefully , we'll be visiting Bologan aagin, we'll definitely stay at the Astoria again. GRAZIE MILLE!!

    Great stay in Bologna.

    We loved our two night stay in this hotel. It's located on a tiny street very near to the historic center of Bologna. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Piazza Maggiore. Rooms are well proportioned, comfortable and quiet. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a room with a terrace, which we didn't use because Bologna in January is too cold for outdoor sitting. (It did give us a view of the snow on the rooftops of neighboring buildings!) Breakfasts were great. In addition to the historic sites, the hotel is only a few blocks away from the arcaded shopping streets for which Bologna is famous.
