Excellent location, bathroom a disappointment in superior level room

This hotel is a great location, near everything in center of the city. The staff is very nice and speaks perfect English. The breakfast is also excellent. The big downside for us was the bathroom. We had a superior level room paying on average $650 USD per night. The shower had no shelf to put our own soap and shampoo and it was teensie, tiny shower anyway. No grab bar either. Then the blow dryer had only one speed and temp and had to be held on the entire time by your thumb. You could never get longer or thicker hair dry. It took me 2x normal time to dry my short hair. And last the only shelf in the bathroom sloped downward so stuff would slide off and there was really no room for a couple to put out their various items like hairbrushes, creams, deoderant, etc. It was ridiculous and for the price I was shocked that it was so subpar.

Great location, making everything a 5-10 minutes walk! Good breakfast choices and excellent rooms; from decoration to amenities! Most polite staff and great communication! Great staff but poor hotel

I would give this hotel 1 star if it weren’t for the wonderful staff. The reception team were so lovely and helpful. After seeing my first room which was a dank, dark and scruffy room the team tried to help find a solution by showing me other rooms. Unfortunately, none of the other rooms were much better and one shown to me on the ground floor was horribly dark. I ended up in a room on the 2nd floor which was acceptable. However, please see attached photos to show the wear of the furniture and the lack of cleaning. Not really acceptable in a 4 star hotel. To top it all off the noise insulation was awful. I could hear people talking and flushing the toilet throughout the night and was woken up in the morning by a loud conversation happening right outside my door. The property doesn’t really work as a whole as half of it is very modern compared to the historical other half. The lifts were dated and cramped and very hard to figure out. I will not return but the staff were all lovely and should be commended for this.
