Very nice hotel, but poor restaurants.

This is a very nice hotel spread out over an area in different buildings. Nice big and clean room and bathroom, with terrace.However a poor maintained A/C which switched off by itself about 5 times in the night and then you heard the cracking of ice and the it started after some time again. So it wakes you up 5 times a night. We informed the reception but nothing was done.We ate 4 nights, in 3 different restaurants of the hotel and it was mediocre, the concentrate of tomate paste was too much in all the tomato sauces. We once ordered the special 3 course Pizza menu of €40pp and got charged €150. Sorry but the menu is not in the cashiers system. They changed it to €80. The restaurants are not up to standard.The breakfast was very good!

Aliennated, unhuman… in Italy?!?!

I would have given 4 stars should we not get apauling negroni last evening on otherwise nice terrace. I’ve had negronis on prestigious locations and in low level places where nehroni costs 6 eur or even less. This here was just coloured ice. An unforgivable mistake!When we left, after paying a “decemt” sum for our room, there was no goodby, or thank you, or hope we see you again… Completely alienated! An unforgivable mistake. Now to the main point. Palazzo is present as an old renovated pallazo. In fact it is a huge hotel! The pallace is there, but serves only as one of many restaurants. Hotel itself is nicely positioned with a good architecture, but sorry, nothig in common with the term pallazo. Compeltely misleading positioning. Unfogivable mistake.We did not use their spa, which is supposed to be superb. So, take in in mind this detail. Plus: we did not eat at their restaurants, since there are so many excellent local trattoria around Bologna, that we did not even think to eat at the hotel.

Spa diamond only . The food at the restaurant was not so good . The breakfast was ok with big variety .The surrounding area is for relax and walk .In my case the TV was not working .They fix it The bathroom sink was blocked . They fix it .If you need something to eat there is no chance but only in the bar and 4 sandwiches Friendly staff

The pros: There are lots of things that are great about this hotel. The views are really special. Lots of local products to try at the restaurant. Wine tasting at the local vineyard is really, really special and in a stunning location. Rooms are very nice, quiet and clean. Enjoyed exploring the grounds, museum, and trying the different pools. Service is really great. Overall a special hotel and would recommend.The cons: Limited food options at the pool bar. It would be good to have more informal lunch options (e.g. poolside pizzas), or a more relaxed lunch time restaurant. The main restaurants were quite expensive (we tried Aurevo & Le Marzoline) and some dishes were also too small. Our food at Marzoline was quite cold and again small. One pool overlooking the driving range was very cold (most pools were lovely though). Great pools and incredible staff

This was a tough rating as I’ve actually stayed 3 times now and I’m sad to say this last one was the closest to a 4 star experience so it was touch and go. The staff are fantastic, the grounds stunning and we’ve had good rooms each time. Some of the spa and hotel need a little work but it’s clear money has been spent. The wine tasting and tour is excellent and the pools are great. All in all I would recommend on the whole just food choices have become a little more limited for vegetarians and the value a little less good than before.
