    A fantastic hotel in all ways. The building and grounds are beautiful. Mixes old world charm with modern facilities. The rooms are very large, with true king sized beds, and very comfortable. The food was excellent, both the breakfast and dinner. The staff was super. Not a wine drinker, but they're wine was also very nice (it's a winery, so had to try the wine)I spend a lot of time in this part of Italy, and Castel Merlo is a gem. Will be back.

    As usual a perfect stay in a small hotel with a freindly staff you always fell welcome. the rooms are big and with one of the best beds in the world, big bathrooms so you feel the space.

    Amazing property with history. Surrounded by vineyard and has inhouse winery. Excellent restaurent. Anka in the receptions and Angelo who manages the property are very helpful. Higly recomment Wine tour with Angelo especially if you are interested in wine. He is very pleasant and knowledgable. We highly valued his insights into local wine and recommendations.

    The stuff of the hotel are very polite and experienced.Every one gives you a warm welcome.The Catsel hotel is very elegant with great touches of design.The room is huge and very cozy and comfortable.We hade a bottle of red wine waiting in the room as a welcome gift.The atmosphere is very relaxing quiet and romantic.

    I wouldn’t go here again. The room is fine and and everything you would expect. But the service from the hotel is utterly lacklustre. It’s almost as if they don’t expect to actually have any guests overnight. They’re much more set up as a restaurant with rooms attached. One day, we came back looking forward to a swim only to be told that a guest was having a birthday party and had effectively taken over the entire pool. We had to ask for service every time we wanted something. I had to ask for someone to come to the lounge to make a drink, I had to ask for someone to take a coffee order at breakfast. We were there on a Monday and there was just no one at all: no bar staff, no restaurant staff to serve dinner. Appalling. The town is hideous, with no redeeming features, so you’re trapped in the hotel unless you want to drive to one of the nicer lakeside towns. I don’t doubt that, for the money, we could have stayed somewhere that actually cared more about guest experience than hosting conferences. Really disappointing.
