Absolutely wonderful stay! The resort is stunning, with breathtaking views of the Strait of Messina, beautiful gardens, and a real sense of peace. The staff were warm and attentive, the rooms spacious and elegant, and the pool and spa made it a perfect retreat. Breakfast offers a wide variety, while lunch and dinner are truly Michelin-star level.

Nicest hotel in Calabria, incredible staff, very clean

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Altafiumara. The staff were incredibly kind, from the front desk staff to the restaurant staff, everyone treated us well. The food was amazing as well, and the room was very comfortable and CLEAN! We had no issues whatsoever, we wish we could have stayed longer. The views were amazing, the pool was great and overall the experience was a 10/10. We even got massages that were unbelievable, truly relaxing and made our stay even better. The plunge pool (half indoor, half outdoor) is available at an extra charge (definitely worth it) and the amenities were great. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful resort with incredible customer service

The resort/view was beautiful. The food was good. There was live music poolside in the evening. Customer service was great! The receptionists even helped us get contacts for our daughter at a local optometrist after she left hers on a train

Most beautiful Hotel in Reggio Calabria

Beautiful hotel with amazing views from the castle and the new sporting area. Breakfast was beautiful staring out at the straight of Messina and the beautiful coast below. The breakfast catered to Italians and Americans I was pleased to find scrambled eggs and bacon along with delicious freshly made juices. The food was very good and featured local dishes. We stayed in the new Sporting complex which was all new and the Suite we stayed in was beautiful and comfortable. In the evenings we would sit on the balcony and watch the entertainment around the pool which was quite large and beautiful.The only complaint was that the AC didn’t work very well in our building. It was a new system and had some huge glitches but the staff did a lot to accommodate us and make our stay as pleasant as possible.Overall, the place is beautiful and the staff from reception, the cleaners and wait staff did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Cheers to Antonio the lifeguard who took care of us around the pool and spoke pretty good English !

A great Hotel with a marvelous view

This hotel is defined as a 5 stars luxury at the entrance.It is definitely a 5 stars luxury for its position and the view that can be enjoyed from the swimming pool and the restaurant and breakfast areas. Every morning, when sitting for breakfast, the first smile and emotion comes from the view.The hotel itself, its environment and organization, and the rooms, are between 4 and 5 stars in my opinion.The room are very well furnished, large, classy, with all comforts, with good air conditioning. Internal parking lot is also available, making it a pleasure to walk in the resort aisles without cars moving around.The hotel also offers a (paid) shuttle service to/from the bext beach in the vicinity, which is very convenient, considering that parking close to the beaches is a nightmare in Calabria.Breakfast offers a huge set of choices, including sweet and salted options, and a choice of cakes which does not help in case you are on a diet!As I always expect from 4 and above stars hotels, you do NOT need to make your own expresso or cappuccino or tea from a machine, at breakfast. Waiters will come and serve you directly from the bar.The restaurant is the weak point: NOT because of quality, which is quite high, with many special and cured offers from typical local cuisine. The issue is the lenghty and slow service. When I say "slow", I mean very slow. I will provide more details in the review of the restaurant on its own.Wifi connectivity is good and stable.A technical improvement for the rooms is required: when you get out and remove the card key from the slot, not only the lights go off, but also the electrical outlet stop providing electrical power. So if you have anything in charge, it will stop charging.
