Great place to take in the sun and sea and eat well.

Great location with a private beach area offering fabulous views. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive explaining in great detail where things were and room features. We had an excellent evening meal in their restaurant. Excellent hotel and good value.

    Family getaway from everyday crazyness

If you would like to get away from every day stress and stay at the deserted place with a beach - it can be a reasonably priced solution. Be aware, that it is better to have a car (place offers car rentals from Europcar Trainity). Otherwise - there is a basic food place in premises, a restaurant about 800m away (Edem Palace), but a better choice is in Vibi di Marino, which is 4 km away. Car will also help to explore places around like Tropea, Pizzo and Reggio Calabria. And to stock up the minibar with wine resources, necessary for relaxed timebeing. Hosts are great and helpful. Breakfast is declared as continental, so do not expect too much, but it actually kept going for awhile! And, please, be aware, that the place is remote from civilization - this is good to escape, more than to get entertained!

    Cute Spot But Be Warned

    rating18 Sept 2016

If you are American, and therefore accustomed to standards of customer service and breakfasts, I would highly advise that you do not stay here. I would advise you to stay at the Cala del Porto hotel in nearby Vibo Marina. This hotel is charming and quaint, but definitely not up to par for Americans. The air conditioning didn't work, the breakfast was absolutely abysmal, and there were so many mosquitos and bugs (maybe because there is a campground located right next to the beach?) Myself, my husband, and our baby girl got covered in bug bites. We had to leave the sliding glass doors to our patio open at night, so that some fresh air could circulate (the AC was a joke!). The check-in lady was very kind and lovely. After our first night, she kindly advised me that if I wanted the cleaning staff to continue to clean my room, that I would need to organize it better. As an American, I was appalled, but I am also European, so I understood she intended no malice. When we had arrived the night before, we put our suitcases on the floor, opened them, took everything out, made a huge mess, and then went out to dinner. You could argue that it was our prerogative as hotel guests to do so, but this is not how Italians (indeed, Europeans in general) think. We were in the area to visit some of my husband's relatives in nearby towns, and to do sightseeing, so we were out and about in the car all day and only returned to the hotel to sleep. The location is gorgeous, as it is right on the ocean. The rooms are fairly spacious, with nice patios/terraces. The wifi is also a bit of a joke. Yes there is wifi - but only in the main section, where the check-in desk and breakfast is served. The hotel rooms are in a nearby building, and there is absolutely NO wifi inside your room, so it is inconvenient to have to go over to the other part of the hotel just to get internet on your phone.

Great little hotel with modern rooms. Beautiful garden, ideal forsmall children. Close to the wonderful private beach, especially for toddlers and younger kids. Very friendly staff. You need a car to go around in the area, for shopping and dining.

The complex it self is very clean and tidy! As soon as you go of the complex i Was horrified. Yes there is a beach there but i felt intimidated by the people surround there, and I could not sleep a wink and did not feel save. The breakfast was awful and i could not wait to leave!!!! The near by town was deserted nearly but pizzo was very nice. I will never go there again. I would never recommend to a friend. The real pictures i will put here. pietro t, Responsabile reception at Hotel Baia Di Trainiti, responded to this review Ci dispiace vivamente che vi siete trovati male.
