Fabulous Fortnight

We stayed for a fortnight at the start of August. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a junior suite with sea view overlooking the pool on the first floor. The room was traditional but spacious, although the shower was very small. It was always kept immaculately clean. The views are better from the top floor but ours was still good. It was 35 degrees plus when we stayed and the air con worked well. The pool area was lovely and never too busy. The pool bar makes great drinks and serves snacks, and the staff were so friendly. We used the beach shuttle several days which was very convenient. The beach is very fine shingle and the sea is great for swimming in and so clear. The beach area was also perfectly clean at all times. We also used the shuttle to Tropea one evening for dinner. We were half board and enjoyed the food each day. The option of half portion was very welcome as the pasta dishes were a whole meal in themselves. Some of the side dishes were interesting but we always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at dinner. The wine list is superb. Stephanie and Cris on reception were both so helpful. For example they recommended and booked us a pizzeria in Tropea for dinner. Stephanie was always chatty at dinner and gave us great recommendations for local places to visit. The waiters at dinner were also lovely and always incredibly polite. We hired a car for 6 days which allowed us to explore nearby towns and villages and was well worth doing. Pizzo in particular is beautiful. Tropea is also fabulous to visit and easy on the train if you don’t fancy the walk. We enjoyed coffees and drinks in Parghelia and were fortunate to be there when there was a festival in town. Scilla is also well worth visiting but easier by train due to parking. Would highly recommend this hotel for the balance of location and peace and quiet. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday.

Disappointing 4-Star Experience & Hostile Management

We expected a high standard of comfort, but this property is tired and would heavily benefit from a renovation. To make matters worse, our stay was ruined by multiple issues and unprofessional, adversarial customer service from management. The only bright spot was Chris on reception, who was genuinely helpful.Unfortunately, the General Manager was the complete opposite. When we emailed to highlight our issues, the GM's initial response was dismissive and hostile. After we replied to object to this treatment, the GM never replied again, completely failing to acknowledge the issues or apologize.Intrusive Housekeeping: Staff knocked and insisted on entering to clean at 08:20 AM, violating our privacy. The GM completely ignored this.Inadequate AC: The system failed to handle mid-30°C heat and shut off when we left the room unless we left the door unlocked (a major security risk). The GM's defensive "solution" was that a second keycard to keep the AC running is only available on request, rather than provided standard.Chaotic Shuttle: The Tropea return shuttle is disorganized. Despite booking the 22:30 slot, we were left behind by guests crowding ahead. The GM blamed the "education" of other guests instead of taking responsibility.Bad Drainage: The shower drained so poorly we had to stand in dirty, pooled water.Issues can happen, but this management chose to attack us for feedback and then go silent. Shoutout to Chris for his efforts, but avoid this hotel if you value basic property maintenance and respectful management.

Wonderful hotel

We had such a lovely week at this charming, family run hotel. The staff are super friendly and helpful and ensure you have a relaxing time.Our room in the new part was modern and spacious and we had a huge balcony where the view of the mountains and sea, and also Tropea in the distance, was stunning, especially at sunset, when you could also see Stromboli in the distance. The shuttle bus took us to the private beach and to beautiful and buzzing Tropea in the evening with a huge choice of restaurants.We never return to the same place but we enjoyed it so much we plan to return!

The perfect hotel for a beach holiday

Fantastic 10 days. From Check-in until the Check- Out, It was a wonderful time.Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The room service was excellent, and the shuttle service to the beach and town was always punctual and flexible to our needs. The restaurant served very delicious food alongside a fantastic wine selection—and the pool bar was just as great. On top of that, the staff was consistently polite, helpful, and accommodating. As well the roomservice .
