I would like to tell a few words about this wonderful hotel Marinella. It's really great and worth visiting and even revisiting! In my subjective opinion everything is perfect there. The room is cosy, clean and with all necessary conveniences. The food is really delicious and various with lots of fresh seafood, fruit and vegetables, pasta, rissoto, fish, meat, etc., everything was extremely tasty and cooked with soul! The sea is only 5 minutes walk downhill, the beach is clean, the views and landscapes are fantastic! My daughter and I are really grateful to Giacomo, Teodora and Madi for everything they have done for us, they are the best! The atmosphere in this hotel is really friendly, calm and peaceful... If we had such an opportunity to return to Marinella again we would do it with great pleasure undoubtedly!!!

    Lovely stay

    rating13 May 2025

The hotel is set across two sites. I stayed in the main building. I was given an exceptional welcome by Teradora (the hotels biggest asset) the room was clean and fresh though a little dated. The dining room was more like a canteen with having to queue for meals at the self serve servers and drinks machines. My friend had a chair which was faulty and collapsed under her. The breakfast offerings were great with continental choices and choice of eggs. The evening meal for me was basic. I also didn’t understand why i was served ribs for example but nothing with it. I went to get some fries from the starter counter but they had all been taken. One night we had a penne pasta dish but the pasta was too firm for my liking. Overall i had a lovely stay. And would stay again. The village is remote and there are other restaurants to choose from at other hotels. You must visit Campagnola on the main road. Its a short walk from the hotel. The views are stunning and the area is picturesque! The hotel provides transport from the beach at times throughout the day. There are beds and umbrellas on the beach for hotel guests at an additional charge of €15 per day. There is a little cafe at the beach but this is not managed by the hotel and nor did i try it.

    A bit unexpected

I went with a friend, first holiday in Italy, the hotel is an hour transfer from the airport so we booked it through the hotel, excellent service, comfy Mercedes so no complaints. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are lovely, big thanks to Theadora on reception, an absolute star. The hairdryer was faulty, it was replaced, again thank you Theadora, however, I would recommend taking your own hairdryer as I lost the will to live trying to use the hotel one.The hotel is situated on the hillside with stunning views, but it's a steep road down to the beach and the hotel charges for the use of the sun beds provided there, they also charge for the little road train to bring you back up the hill from the beach, so we stayed around the pool area which we had to ourselves most days.We were the only English people there, the other guests were German, this seems to be the norm for the hotel as the dinner menu was in German. The food at dinner was ok, the ships bell is rung at 19.30 and everyone queues to get salad and whatever else is on the menu for the starters, as there were no labels on any of the dishes we didn't know what a lot of things were, but we tried everything, it's definitely catering for German tourists, there was also a pasta dish served at tables and usually a choice of meat or fish, everyone gets the same dessert, we didn't starve but I wouldn't say it was great.Because of the remoteness of the hotel there's no bars or restaurants or a shop, it's quite a decent walk up the hill to the bus stop and the train station and the hotel will arrange taxis for you. We had a lovely meal at a restaurant about a half mile walk away up the hill, but apart from that you're stuck with eating in the hotel. The beds were firm in the extreme, but the room was spacious with a balcony and very clean, there's no lift and lots of steps outside so it's definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We had a relaxing week which is what we wanted but it would have been better if there had been a bit more around the hotel so you had a choice for eating and drinking. If you're after a lively holiday this is definitely not the place to go, if you're after peace and quiet and like walking up and down hills it's perfect.

    Average hotel

Completely average hotel, definitely overrated in comparison with hotels in neighbourhood. Clean. Garden view can mean anything. Good kitchen, poor breakfast.Limited availability of umbrellas and chairs on the beach. If it is a crowdy day or your last day, you have to find and pay umbrella& beds on some other beach even if it is already included in your price.
