A wonderful, authentic stay with breathtaking views!

    rating18 Sept 2026

A wonderful, authentic stay with breathtaking views! This is a cozy, family-run hotel located on the outskirts of Tropea. It sits on a hill, offering stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Aeolian Islands. The hosts are incredibly helpful and genuinely care about their guests' comfort. A fantastic feature of this hotel is their shuttle bus service. It takes guests to the beach, the supermarket, and to the town center in the evening. This service is absolutely essential because the area is very hilly, there is no public transport, and taxis are hard to find. The breakfast and dinner are served in a traditional Italian style, meaning everyone will find something delicious to enjoy. When rating this hotel, it is important to understand the reality of this region of Italy, its hotel standards, and the lack of large urban centers. This is easily one of the best hotels in the area, situated in the excellent location of Tropea. I highly recommend it to seasoned travelers who understand global standards. If you are overly demanding or looking for pure luxury, Calabria might not be the right place for you. For everyone else, it is a gem!

Amazing stay. Hotel great value for money. Staff amazing - super friendly and helpful, transfer to beach/town so appreciated. Great pool and bar set up. Ate at the hotel one evening and it was good and plenty of food. Would absolutely return and recommend.

This was my worst travel nightmare!

    rating10 Mar 2019

We were not given the rooms from vouchers, but some rooms for the staff. The food is artificial overdosed from sugar for breakfast. There is no fresh fruit or vegetable. Coffee is horrible.Rooms are dirty everywhere you look, bed sheets 100 years old and washed out, bathroom floor is filthy, there are stains on walls. The hotel staff is very aggressive and if you would complain they start behave as mafia, they even shout at guest or would not give you voucher for internet. This is the place which should be really closed down for good.

    Slumpy 1 star motel

    rating04 Oct 2018

This is 2 stars MOTEL at best. But probably 1 star. First, the bathrooms are too small. You don’t have any place to put any of your stuff. Even in the shower. The shower is about 18’x18’. If you are overweight you probably won’t fit. The external contour of the shower was crassed out. The emergency « white » cord is black with crass and the curtains are also filthy. And they don’t close properly, flooding the floor. The rest of everything is all cheap. Beds are cheap, but at least a bit comfortable. The safe is not free, you need to pay for it, and on top of this, it's really small, like 5x5 inches, it's a really old safe, with which seems to be a generic key hole, which I guess (because we did not pay for this) the keys fit all the safes. And considering the staff in this place, I prefer the locks on my luggage. You will eat the same few things in the buffet and they don’t have heaters for side dishes. Which means if you don’t get them at the opening of the buffet, they will be cold. Half of the staff are rude and have anger issues and want you to arrange your life around them than the other way around. One of the shuttle driver will endanger you life with his reckless driving and will burst your eardrums with his stupid disco on his crappy radio with the volume to max. He also prefers to tap his dash bells, instead of holding the steering wheel. This guy also needs serious anger management lessons. It's the first time I see someone barking at customers out of anger for the sole reason that you did not do exactly what HE wanted. And the reason why you did not do exactly what HE wanted is because nobody tells you "the rules" that you have to abide by ( because you need to arrange you life to accommodate them, remember?), or if they do, they muffled it in Italian, and assumed you understood. The staff should invest in basic English skills. So in a nutshell, unless you speak Italian or have low standards, consider some place else
