  I had the worst hotel experience of my life in Calabria. We booked this place last minute for a celebration, and although the location was nice, the hotel was filthy, broken down, and outrageously overpriced. The room smelled terrible, had mold on the walls, and was infested with cockroaches and ants. It hadn’t even been cleaned before our arrival, and we had to pay extra for cleaning. The service was awful. During a thunderstorm, rain leaked through the ceiling, soaking my child in the middle of the night. We left after just two days because the place was unbearable. It was dirty, disgusting, and completely unacceptable. I strongly warn anyone against staying there.

  Nightmare village

  Third party village. Cramped old and dirty rooms. We spent a week where we thought we were relaxed and without taking the car since the village and directly on the sea, instead the village did not offer anything, no entertainment or even a little evening entertainment.   The nice, friendly and courteous staff (from the cleaning lady, to the waiters to the lifeguards) would get the full 5 points from me. But unfortunately I have to deduct some points, the pictures where the hotel's own sunbeds and umbrellas are are so unfortunately not correct. You are on a hill where it is very difficult to get up and down (unstable sand mountain or stairs where there is no railing at the bottom or a very very high step!) especially it is very difficult for someone who cannot walk well! Too bad we had chosen the hotel especially because we wanted to go to the beach, but the sun umbrellas that are down by the water, you have to pay Unfortunately, I have to deduct further points for our room. Old, worn out, broken (e.g. the table outside) and dirty! There were a lot of big ants running through our bathroom and other crawlies across our bed. Some animal even ate my T-shirt.   scruffy apartment, with 70s/80s furnishings. Doors that didn't close, steps with broken tiles Dirty bedspreads, bathroom with plastic shower that I even disgusted to touch, shower cubicle fixed with black tape. Staff who responded badly, and invited me to leave as I complained about the apartment, which I could have left (pity I had already paid with a credit card) and then price at the bar off the market own. Photos of the of the rooms not corresponding to what they really offer although there are some that have been renovated but have not happened to me.   Restaurant 'La Grotta' - part of Villagio Quattro Scogli

  Such an amazing restaurant experience. The team went very far in making us feel welcome. Try the sardines while you're there. A fantastic terrace right on the beach. We went there in June when there were hardly any tourists and it was fantastic.
