Very disappointing for such a fine old building

Such a pity the hotel did not live up to its exterior look and great location. Check in procedure was OK, if a little offhand and lacking in welcome.The room however, was a shocker! Room 106 has the bedroom on a high mezzanine with 14 open tread steel steps to access. Not a good idea for us ageing guests! Especially when the TV is up there. Meaning you had to be in bed to watch it. One small shuttered window meant that the lights need to be on 24/7, especially on the mezzanine and staircase.No functioning WIFI in the room, despite the presence of an obviously damaged router.The stairs were a nightmare for those of us who have to get up during the night in the dark.The bathroom was very tired and the shower was located in a very high sided bath, which made it very difficult to access safely. Decor was dirty, with cracks and gaps where filth collected.Very hard bed and pillows made for an uncomfortable night.Breakfast did not make our stay any better! The hot food was not even lukewarm it was seriously chilled and limited to bacon and scrambled egg. It took three reminders and 20 minutes before the totally absent waiter brought fresh coffee.On departure we were advised that a taxi would arrive within minutes of a phone call. What they omitted to say was that the number was engaged for half an hour and we had to resort to a walk, complete with suitcases, to the local bus station, which fortunately was nearby.Conversation with staff revealed a serious issue with morale and confidence in management and reception.Sorry, except for the exterior appearance and location, we have nothing really positive to say about the Hotel San Giorgio, Civitavecchia.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently before Boarding a cruise , Very disappointed , The carpets in the Hallways were stained and very dirty , the paint was peeling off the walls, . While the room was ok it was very basic for the price paid , Only one receptionist we met had reasonable English the others were not at all helpful . The breakfast was very poor , No hot food not even a toaster available , Then to cap it all we asked about a shuttle bus to the nearby cruise port and were quoted a price of 15 euro per adult and 2 euro per suitcase, we refused and called Uber instead which was 5 euro each, would not recommend at all

We did not get there they cancelled us even though we booked in May then after arguing we booked somewhere else the next day they said are room is available and we could not cancel we would be charged over all very bad experience would never book agin they will cancel your room at a drop off a hat

Totally disappointed. Upon arrival at lunchtime no restaurant open. So no food. Rooms very tired and in need of a total refurbishment. My room smelt of moth balls. Bathroom tatty. Breakfast very limited and run out of cutlery. What more can i say would not stay agsin

It was with some trepidation that we visited Hotel San Giorgio. After all many reviews were poor .However we were pleasantly surprised.It was late when we arrived but our rooms were fine . They were somewhat tired but everything worked including the all important air conditioning.Breakfast wasn’t included in the price but the buffet was only €10 and was reasonably good. The hot food was freshly cooked and there was plenty of choice.Location was good too being in the town centre.We were cruising and enjoyed the walk to the cruise terminal as it was a warm morning and were keen to exercise.If you have a walking disability there is a bus stop across the road.This was a good start to our holiday.
