This hotel is located close to the old market, San Lorenzo, in the heart of central Florence, just a short walk from the cathedral and the main museums as well as San Maria Novella main train station.     We made a reservation and paid for our stay months in advance. We emailed a week prior to our trip to confirm our stay which we received confirmation for. Upon arrival we were told they had overbooked and they did not have a room for us. A cab was provided to the hotel that they booked us in for and we were sent to the wrong hotel! The staff indicated that he had no idea what we were talking about. We walked a mile with our luggage to the correct hotel which was unacceptable-- dirty, dingy, and outdated. We had to fight with the hotel to get a refund and found our own accommodations. A very unfortunate and negative experience for our first time in Florence, Italy.

    This hotel is a hidden gem! 10mins from the train station, accross from Mercato Centrale (please go there for lunch- lots of amazing food!), close to the Duomo and Uffizi. Rooms are clean, quiet and bed very comfortable! Staff is kind and always smiling. Breakfast was fantastic. Cannot wait to be back. Highly recommend this hotel.     My sister and I could not have been happier with our stay. The location is perfect, the building dates to the 1500's. Staff is top notch, helpful and personable, breakfast is good, as is the hot water and water pressure. Highly recommended.     The location is in easy walking distance of all the main attractions. The hotel is very comfortable and there are lots of extra touches that make it special.     Ideally situated 10 mins walk from stationMuseum, markets, shops, literally round the corner tucked away.Immersed in culture and vibrant atmosphere getting an authentic experience-location could not be better.Staff attentive, friendly, helpful and professional-multi lingual and offered support to get around and explore/book activities.no pressure.Breakfast was the best I’d had in my many trip to Europe- huge choice of locally produced goods.Warmly greeted each day and prompt attention.Hotel was old as you would expect in this area which added to the charm whilst being kept spotlessly clean.It’s like living in an old Florentine home with beautiful art work and decorations.The lift is small but works well and there’s stairs which are level and safe to climb.Bedroom was comfortable, crisp linens and soft towels and a 4 piece bathroom set with lots of room and good flow of warm water.We could hear no noise from neighbouring rooms on same floor ,up and below and the hotel was busy.There was some noise from outside - most was from people going / coming from working and setting up / market stalls and some church bells- to me they added to the positive experience and cultural enrichment of a much needed break.We felt safe staying at this hotel.Highly recommended.There’s a labyrinth style supermarket 1 minute away which is fantastic,the food market upstairs for vast selection of dining experiences.All round wonderful experience.
