    Interesting hotel, very helpful staff

    I stayed there only one night. Upon arrival, the receptionist was incredibly sweet. She let us check in several hours earlier than scheduled. The hotel itself is very interesting. I liked the monastery feeling of it. My travel partner was very afraid of spirits in general and she ended up being very nervous about the whole experience. The facilities are very clean, the church bells that ring didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. The location was central and allowed us to walk to all the attractions in Florence and it felt very safe coming back late at night. To top it off, we had a very late flight to catch and they allowed us to store our luggage until 11pm! Overall, it was a great stay with very accomodating staff. Can't beat that for the price!

    Basic Monastic style accommodation in great location

    This is very basic accomodation run by a religious congregation in what can be described as a quasi-monastic setting.The room and facilities are austere but adequate - the towels in the bathroom however were like sand paper.Our room was located near the lift which was quite noisy and the bells from the church to which this place is attached were very loud - all night!!The electric supply was rather strange - using a UK three pin adapter did not work and we could not charge laptop - however there was a USB adapter hidden in a drawer which meant we could charge the iPadNotwithstanding the above we received an extremely friendly reception from the staff and were allowed to leave our bags after checking out for collection later after spending the day exploring Firenze.The location was fabulous - close to all the major sites

    Unusual and helpful

    THis is a sort of old monastery, two blocks away from Piazza Signorina; it also provides rooms for students and summer workers. If you don't require the usual hotel experience, this will give you a good flavor of Florence. Old-fashioned high-ceilinged rooms with high windows and doors that opened to bird song in the morning and church bells at all hours. Antonio was very sweet and helped us with everything.

    The rooms are absolutely lovely: antique furniture, high ribbed ceilings and old paintings on the walls. Though do bear in mind that the rooms are inside a (functioning) church and thus all the religious memorabilia are there if one's bothered by such things. The church bells were also rather loud in the mornings. The location is pretty much perfect: about 2 minutes from Duomo. The only drawback probably are the lack of breakfast and the odd hours when you can check in (4-8 pm if I'm correct). But otherwise the stay was amazing and I 100% recommend it.
